My workshop choices: Information on the workshops is given below. You can to go to two workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Please put a tick next to your first choice and second workshop choices. We will try our best to get you into your preferred workshops and will let you know about this on the day. Morning (11.00am – 12.15pm) Workshop description Workshop 1: Autism and transitions Lynsey Stewart – Autism Network Scotland In this interactive workshop session you will be given the opportunity to discuss: What is a transition? Why are transitions important, particularly for somebody with autism? How can we get transitions right? What support is available? What is happening nationally in relation to transitions and how does this affect you? Workshop 2: Support planning for young people and their families. KEY’s East and West Dunbartonshire Services will share their experiences of developing support planning tools for younger people with autism and working in partnership with families and others involved in the young person’s life. In this workshop you will be given the chance to find out about and discuss the Outcomes Approach which has been developed from the Scottish Strategy for Autism. We will break into groups and discuss the 4 strategic outcomes. 1. A Healthy Life. 2. Choice and control. 3. Independence. 4. Active Citizenship. In each group people will be given time to think about and discuss what the 4 areas mean to them and also what service providers can do to get it right for people to help everyone achieve what they what from life.
