BEAVER MEADOWS MEN`S LEAGUE – 2017 We will have only one

BEAVER MEADOWS MEN’S LEAGUE – 2017
We will have only one “division” with teams playing at least 15 of the current 25 teams
during the course of the year. The league regular season will consist of 2 - 9 week
halves. There will be one position round at the end each half. The top 4 teams of the
respective half will qualify for the playoffs. If any of the top 4 team(s) in the first half are
also one of the top 4 teams in the second half, wildcard team(s) will be added to make
up the 8 team playoffs. The wildcard team(s) will be the one(s) with the highest season
long point not otherwise qualified. The qualifying teams will be seeded based upon their
season long point totals with 1 playing 8, 2 playing 7, 3 playing 6 and 4 playing 5 with
the winners advancing until a winner is determined.
REVIEW OF SCORING AND MATCH PLAY
1. All play will be under USGA Rules. The Pro Shop will post the conditions of play
(i.e., play it down, pick clean & place, etc.) weekly..
2. Each team will be assigned an opponent each week with a Hole Assignment
(when we Shotgun start) or a Tee time.
3. League specific Score cards are to be picked from Pro Shop prior to play
4. Current Handicaps will be used. Distribution of strokes will be off the low
handicap in the foursome.
a. For anyone not having an established GHIN handicap, see the pro shop
prior to playing. The Pro Shop will assign the player a handicap for that
round.
5. The league is based on the White Tees. However, any member who’s age and
handicap equals 90 or higher, will have the option of playing the Gold tees. If
they play the Gold tees, a further reduction in their handicap upon which the
match is played will be per USGA recommendations. When the league
handicaps are posted prior to league play, these handicaps will published so as
to eliminate any issues.
a. When in doubt, see the Pro Shop.
6. Matches are 2 ball-Best ball Net. 2 points per hole and 2 points for a won match
for a total of 20 points per match.
7. Player’s FULL name MUST be shown on the scorecard.
a. This will help facilitate identifying SKINS and posting of scores BY THE
LEAGUE.
b. NOTE: subs scores are also posted so their name MUST be also
identified.
8. As soon as play is completed, the scorecard MUST be put in the league box in
the Bar. If a team wishes to continue play, they MUST arrange for the scorecard
to be put in box PRIOR to going back out.
9. If a team does not have all 4 members, play will be as follows:
a. If a team only has 3 players, one player will play against 2 opponents
while the other match is played 2 on 2.
b. If both teams only have 3 players, each team can either play 1 on 2 or
they can opt to have 1 on 1 for one match and 2 on 2 for the other
c. If a team only has 2 players, then there will be 2 - 1 on 2 matches.
d. If both teams only has 2 players, then there will be 2 - 1 on 1 matches.
e. If one team only has 1 player, then that one player will play both matches
against the other team.
f. If both teams only have 1 player, then they will play 1 on 1 for 40 points.
g. If an opponent doesn’t have anyone show up, than the team will play the
course as described under the rules for Playing the Course. In this case,
the Pro Shop needs to be notified ahead of time.
10. Since it looks like we will have 25 teams this year, it will be necessary for 18
teams to play the course at some point during the season. To do this, the
players on the team playing the course will use 90% of their handicap per USGA
recommendations.
a. See the Published RULES FOR PLAYING THE COURSE
b. The predetermine pairings play a 2 ball best ball net match against the
course with points awarded as follows:
i. Birdie or better, plus 2 points
ii. Par – plus 1 point
iii. Bogey – 0 points
iv. Double bogey – minus 1 point
v. Triple bogey – minus 2 points
vi. Net 35 or better – 2 points
vii. Net 36 – 1 point
viii. Net 37 or higher – 0 points
ix. There is a maximum of 20 points per match
