Definition:
• interactive computer-based system or subsystem intended
to help decision makers use communications technologies,
data, documents, knowledge and/or models to identify
and solve problems, complete decision process tasks, and
make decisions.

person or group’s ability to make decisions.
• involves designing and studying DSS in their context of
use.

- Passive standard DSS
Gathering of information for support of the decision maker. Cannot bring solutions or
suggestions.
- Active standard DSS
Gathering information and creation of the alternatives for the decision maker.
- Cooperative standard DSS
Allows modification of system solution by user and send back for validation. Iterative
process until final (consolidate) decision.
