After navigating to the Jobsearch user login
page: http://jobsearch.uncg.edu/hr
you will see this login screen.
Enter your Username
and your Password, then click Login
If you have forgotten your password click
here to request a password reset.
Postings can also be accessed from the
Postings tab and selecting SPA
Select the posting by clicking on the Job Title here in your Inbox.
If you selected SPA from the Postings tab, you will see a listing of all
postings you have created as a Hiring Assistant or have access to.
Click on Start SPA Hiring Proposal
to begin the third and final phase
of the recruitment process:
Generating a Hiring Proposal
Click on Start SPA Hiring Proposal to continue.
The candidate’s contact information is automatically imported from their application.
Enter the candidate’s official
contact information.
Check this box if you as the department wish to make the job offer to the candidate.
Enter the Recommended Salary
Enter the Reasons this person was selected
for this position.
Enter the Department Recommended hire date.
(Please note that this date could change)
If it is a time-limited position, enter the work end date.

Select the Rank (if applicable)
Enter the Position Number
Enter the Position Title
Choose the Home Org
from the drop down menu
Enter the competencies here.
Enter the justification for the competencies here.
Provide the employee rating per competency level here.
Select the FLSA status (if necessary)
Select the Timesheet Org
Enter the information regarding the office
information associated with this position.
As of October 25, 2013, the new probationary
period for a NEW HIRE is 24 months.
Click the Add Reference
Check Entry box to generate
the Reference Check form.

checked and logged by
clicking on this button to
generate additional forms.
Reference checks MUST BE completed. It is required to have at least one (1) good
professional reference check completed and entered here.
Be detailed in the Major Duties
section. List those duties that
relate directly to your position.
Click this box to add an additional Reference Check form for each
reference contacted.
Funding information is required
to be entered. If the position is
funded by multiple funding
sources, the additional source
information can be added by
clicking on Add Funding
Information Entry button for
each funding source.
Additional documents can also be attached to the Hiring Proposal by hovering over the
Actions dropdown menu and selecting either Upload New, Create New or Choose Existing.
HR Compensation
It is at this stage, HR Compensation (Consultant) Mary
Russell, reviews the Hiring Proposal.
• Careful review of the finalist’s application, and the
justification provided by the HA in the Hiring Proposal. If
additional information is needed, Mary will contact the HA.
• Salary
• Equity
• Salary range
• Competencies
Affirmative Action
The AA Officer reviews:
• The applicants that were interviewed but not selected and
the chosen finalist.
• Approves the salary
HR Offers
The Human Resources office makes the job offer. The HR Consultant will then
contact the HA via email notifying the Department that the finalist either accepted,
declined or countered the offer.
Accepted – The HR Consultant will inform the Department of the Hire Date,
Accepted Salary, etc….
Declined – If the finalist declines the offer, the Department does have the option to
choose a second candidate from their applicant pool or they can cancel their
search.
Counter Offer – Sometimes applicants counter, this will need to be negotiated with
HR and the Department, depending on the available funding, if the counter is
between the recruitment range.
Remember, current employees who are to receive a promotional increase of more
than 10% will need to be approved by the Chancellor and the Board of Governors.
Hiring Proposal Approved
• IMPORTANT: Before HR can designate this POSTING as filled, all
remaining Active applicants must be given a Not Selected Status AND
reason.
• Human Resources completes administrative functions, enters data
and marks the posting as filled.
• Once the posting is marked as filled, any applicants assigned to the
status of Email Later will be emailed and informed that the position
has now been filled.
• Applicants will be able to view their status of their application as well,
and they will see that their status has been changed to Not Hired.
