PHILADELPHIA—InLiquid and Stanek Gallery present Reinterpreting Landscape and Nature, a group exhibition of
InLiquid Artist Members, curated by Barbara Harberger. This group of artists exhibited here at Stanek Gallery
share a sensibility through which they approach their work that links them in a unique way.
Though the methods and intent of these artists vary, there is a common link through their nonrepresentational
response to landscape and forms that take their clues from the natural world. The works in the exhibition, each
involving varied materials, find an order through establishing connections between these abstracted elements
inspired by a common source.

In partnership with Stanek Gallery, InLiquid is pleased to invite Barbara Harberger to curate work by InLiquid
Artist Members for Stanek’s unique gallery space. This partnership is part of an initiative by Stanek to nurture
relationships with other organizations deeply ingrained in the unique arts culture of Philadelphia, fostering a
more connected cultural community.

About the Curator:
Barbara Harberger has been working as an Art Advisor since 2004. She has had the opportunity to curate numerous art
collections for private residences, corporations, restaurants, and hotels throughout the United States as well as in London,
Hong Kong, and the Caribbean. Additionally, Barbara curates gallery exhibitions, such as Diverging Affinities at Wexler
Gallery in 2010, and has been included on various panel discussions pertaining to the impact of the arts and collecting.
Barbara received her Master’s Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where she was a teaching
assistant, and her Bachelor’s Degree from The University of the Arts. She studied Art and Finance at Sotheby’s Institute in
New York, was a visiting artist at SAIC’s Oxbow School, and served as an adjunct professor at Rowan University.
Barbara has been a member of the Leadership Circle at ICA Philadelphia since 2005, a member of InLiquid’s Benefit
committee since 2004, a member of the University of the Arts “Art Unleashed” committee since 2010, a member of the Craft
Now Philadelphia Consortium since 2014, and a member of ArtTable since 2015. Additionally, Barbara is an active member
of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
