We understand that the strength of the Coalition arises from joint support of members’ common goals, and that the expectation is that Coalition Members and Supporting Organizations will work in a united way to support the full range of Coalition goals for the entire uniformed services and veterans community, and not just those elements that specifically affect our organization’s members. In, supporting each other’s goals, each Coalition organization gains by broadening support for its own goals. B. We understand and agree that a member of our organization must attend at least four of every six monthly VMCO meetings. 15. ACCEPTANCE OF VMCO MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT: I HEREBY AFFIRM THAT I UNDERSTAND THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE VETERANS AND MILITARY COALITION OF THE OZARKS (VMCO). Box 332, Branson, MO 65615-0332 2 5/16/2016 Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks (VMCO) FACTS 1. The Coalition shall be nonpartisan. It shall not contribute or otherwise support or assist any political party or candidate or nominee for public office. 2. Regular meetings shall be held on the third Thursday of each month. Fifty-one percent of the members of the Coalition present shall constitute a quorum capable of transacting any business that may come before a meeting. 3. Executive Board meetings are conducted on the second Thursday of each month. 4. A member organization may have as many representatives as necessary to fulfill its commitments to the Coalition, but shall have only one vote. 5. Approval by a majority of members shall signal a Coalition decision, except in those instances where another vote margin is specified in this agreement. 6. Whenever five or more members oppose a proposed Coalition action or position, that issue will be tabled and shall not be pursued as a Coalition initiative. In all events, each member and Supporting Organization shall remain free to pursue any independent action it deems appropriate. 7. Members' representatives shall keep their respective Chief Executive Officers apprised of Coalition business, and are considered to possess the authority of their Chief Executive Officers when casting votes at Coalition meetings. 8. Revenue a) The Coalition may from time to time adopt methods by which to raise operational revenues, to include corporate donations, grants, charitable contributions, or any other legal and acceptable contributions. b) No member or supporting organization shall be required to pay dues, contribute money, or participate in any financial undertaking approved by the Coalition membership. The Coalition shall accept voluntary contributions from members and supporting organizations. Total amounts contributed by members and supporting organizations shall be noted in the Treasurer’s report without identifying the contributing organization to guard against creating inadvertent pressures for contributions from others. c) At the end of each calendar year the BOD will determine amount of excess funds available and determine distribution to member organizations in support of Coalition objectives in supporting veterans, service members, etc. through the member organizations. 3 5/16/2016
