how they got their concussion?

Why are
concussions a
major issue?
- Players lie about
having a concussion
- Concussions become
a big deal when
players don’t report
their concussions
- Some players do
poorly on the Baseline
tests, so that postconcussion scores
look normal in
comparison
“Concussions
are a part of
the game”
“Play through
it”
The consequences of playing through
a concussion
 It should take a little more than a week for all symptoms to
disappear from a concussion, but quite often players take weeks or
even months
 Symptoms are more severe, recovery time becomes longer
 You become more susceptible to progressive diseases like SecondImpact syndrome
 Play hard, but when you get a concussion get out of the game
and recover!!!

Things to remember
 A single concussion will not have life-long implications. But,
numerous concussions and improper treatment of
concussions will. So, play safe, but if you do suffer a
concussion, get out of the game and rest up.
Thank You!
