ONE DAY IN THE LIFE OF CAMP
Age 5-7
09.00-9.30 – Group warm up. Including; Sport specific and fun games. These
games will include increasing the heart rate and blood flow to get the athletes
ready to participate
09.30-10.00 – Practice jumping from one foot onto to two feet into the sand .
10.00-10.30 – Throwing objects for distance to gain and insight for technique
in javelin.
10.30-11.00 – Run Fast. Learn how to run and improve technique. Then
Sprint over 40m as fast as you can.
11.00-11.20 - Small break for a snack and drink.
11.20-12.00 – Fun relays will be run with mixed teams of athletes across all
age groups, and then 10 minutes before the end a cool down will be carried
out to slow resting heart rate.
Age 8-10
09.00-9.30 – Group warm up. Including; Sport specific and fun games. These
games will include increasing the heart rate and blood flow to get the ready to
participate
09.30-10.00 – Sprints. Increasing the distance and learning how to run at a
steady pace over 200m
10.00-10.30 – Practicing “Tuck Jump” or “Scissor Kick” over obstacles which
will help develop High jump.
10.30-11.00- Learning about technique for javelin throw, using foam javelins.
11.00-11.20 – Small break to have a snack and drink.
11.20-12.00 – Fun relays will be run with mixed teams of athletes across all
age groups, and then 10 minutes before the end a cool down will be carried
out to slow resting heart rate.
Age 11-13
09.00-9.30 – Group warm up. Including; Sport specific and fun games. These
games will include increasing the heart rate and blood flow to get the athletes
ready to participate
09.30-10.00 – Throwing light weighted javelins for distance, learning about the
correct coaching points.
10.00-10.30 – Practicing crouch starts for the beginning of a race to improve
starting technique
10.30-11.00 – Triple jump technique introduction.
11.00-11.20 – Small break to have a snack and drink.
11.20-12.00 – Fun relays will be run with teams of athletes across all age
groups, and then 10 Minutes before the end a cool down will be carried out to
slow resting heart rate.
