Personal, Social, and Emotional Development





Circle Times – Learning about what goes onto and into our bodies.
Sharing good tales about play times.
Role Play – Vets/ police station/ garage/ kitchen / café and
restaurant.
We hope to have lots of visitors this term. We would welcome visits
from any parents who work in the local community who would like
to come and talk to the children about what they do. Please see
your child’s class teacher if you are interested!
We will continue to take turn and share during playtimes and in
the outside area.
Literacy











Continue learning Jolly Phonic sounds and actions.
Continue to use phonic knowledge to read and write simple words
Begin to write simple sentences using a capital letter, finger spaces
and a full stop – Weekend news.
We will find out and write a fact about an animal or pet.
We will write using a variety of contexts, labeling, writing lists and
recipes.
We will continue to learn to read and play tricky word games.
Continue learning Oxford Reading Tree pink, red and yellow words.
Continue to sound out and blend our word key rings.
Continue to practice writing our first names and surnames.
Using the role play area: Garage, Police station.
We will continue reading time activities.
Communication and Language







Weekend news with Mr. Mole and Badger.
Continuing to discuss Golden Rules, and
how to ensure we follow them.
Following instructions.
In PSHE we will be learning about safety
with medicines and how we feel when we
are unwell.
Discussing how we can take risks and do so

Thinking of appropriate questions to ask
visitors.

Physical Development


Atlas Sports: Fundamental skills
We will develop fine motor skills through
daily dough disco, funky finger activities
and squiggle whilst you wiggle.
We will be spending lots of time in our
outside area carrying out a range of fun
activities
Using scissors to cut lots of different shapes
and follow lines.
Keeping healthy – food, exercise and sleep.
Learning about and tasting different foods.
Continuing to do up our coats
independently and getting undressed and
dressed for PE independently.


Understanding the World








We will be leaning about different jobs I may want to do when I grow up.
ICT – We will learn how to use simple coding on the computer.
ICT – We will be programming the Bee-bots to move in a variety of
directions.
We will go on a nature walk around the school, and observe any changes
that have taken place, showing care and concern for animals. Taking
part in the ‘Big garden bird watch’.
We will go for a walk to look at the local shops in Cam, discussing local
features.
Our theme in R.E. is ‘Special people’
We will be reading stories from the bible about being a good friend and
caring for others.
We will be learning about Chinese New Year and Valentine’s day.
Mathematics

We will b
Recognising numerals 1-5, then 1-10.
Writing and recording using pictures, tally, or
numbers.
Reciting numbers to 10.
Count reliably at least 5 everyday objects
with experience of counting to 10.
Counting sets of objects 1-10 accurately and
confidently
Beginning to use mathematical names for 3D
solid and 2D flat shapes.
We will select named shapes.





Art – making rescue vehicles from recycled
materials
Painting pictures of different people who
help us in the community.
Chinese New Year dragon, making
lanterns and painting symbols.
We will be singing a variety of songs linked
to ‘people who help us.’
