“Kalimambo” and “Flossen hoch” are on the recommendation list
by the “Jury Spiel des Jahres”
Two games by the Munich game publisher Zoch are on the latest recommendation list published by the “Jury Spiel des Jahres“: “Kalimambo “a running
and fretting game for 3 to 7 players 8 years and up is on the list of family
games. “Flossen hoch“ a memory and reaction game for 2 to 4 players of 4
and up is on the list of children’s games.
This fun game from Zoch is amusing and humorous: in “Kalimambo“ there’s
trouble in store for you. If you step on elephant dung or Mambo, the rhino
kicks you in the pants. Round for round the players try to avoid anooyances
like these. To do so they have to play the right card at the right time. Each
round brings new excitement and surprises with plenty of opportun-ities for
laughter and malicious glee to stifle annoyance. The game developed by Antonio Scrittore for up to seven players eight and up offers plenty of opportunity
for malicious glee. Its challenging character is most impressive. The game is
available in stores for approx. EUR 20.
“Flossen hoch“ is a new children’s game by the Zoch publishing house. A
school of fish is frolicking in the cold polar waters and observing what’s
happening on shore – the 16 sea dwellers all put their heads above water at
the same time. The children are sitting there trying to catch as many fish as
possible so that their penguin reaches the finishing line as soon as possible.
The fish make life difficult for the anglers: from above they all look the same.
But under water they are different colors and some are short, some are longer.
The length of the correctly colored fish decides how far each penguin is
allowed to advance. Then the fish is thrown back into the water at any point. If
a rainbow-colored fish is caught the penguin is always able to advance even if
only a short distance. Players who catch a fishbone are out of luck. And things
become rather turbulent if a shark surfaces in the basin. And in addition all
children are called on to react quickly. The children’s game “Flossen hoch“
developed by author Edith Grein-Böttcher is an attractive memory and reaction game for up to four children four years and up. The game is available in
