Dear Parents and Future Kindergartners,
My name is Mrs. Crawford and I want to welcome you to our PM kindergarten
class this year. I would like to take this time to tell you a little about myself. I was born
and raised in Arizona. I love riding horses, spending time with my family, and exploring
outside. I have three brothers and one sister. At the age of 12 my parents bought a
cattle ranch up north and we moved and became ranchers! I graduated from Northern
Arizona University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and this will be my
eleventh year teaching. I have three kiddos who are 18, 10, and 1!! They all keep me super
busy.
This year we will have so much fun exploring and learning. We will start by
celebrating you and your new kindergarten friends. We will learn about our families, our
school, and our community. During our second quarter we will be celebrating the Fall
Harvest by exploring apples, pumpkins, and leaves. Then we will celebrate America, the
land of liberty, and take a trip “around the world” to learn about the other countries and
their traditions. In January we are going to waddle, slip, and dive right into learning
about different habitats such as the cold deserts, oceans, and rainforest! Lastly, we will
learn about the life cycles of butterflies, chickens, frogs and seeds! This year will be full
of fun and I can’t wait!!
I am looking forward to meeting all of you at our Kindergarten Open House on
Friday, July 21st! The suggested time for our Open House will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
I will available throughout most of the day if this time doesn’t work. The Open House is
your chance to see your classroom, meet your classmates, pick up some important papers
and carpool information, and drop off your school supplies. Please see the next page for a
list of suggested school supplies that you will need and wish list items for the class.
Our first day of school is Wednesday, July 26th. In order for you to maintain
enrollment at EDUPRIZE, you must be on time and attend this day. All kindergartners
will line up on the kindergarten playground. For the PM TOPS Schedule, school begins at
11:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please be in line and ready to
begin by 10:55 a.m.
I am excited to get to know all of my new friends, and I know it will be an
amazing year. I will be sure to keep you informed on our activities and parent involvement
opportunities throughout the year. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your

(1) Pencil box (plastic)- Please label this item with your child’s first and last name, and
place the following items inside with their name on them as well:
o (1) Pair of kid scissors
o (2) Boxes of 24 crayons, basic colors
o (1) Eraser
o Headphones
(1) ½ inch, 3 ring binder with inside pockets and a clear sleeve on the outside to hold a
cover sheet.
(4) Plain colored (plastic) pocket folders WITH fasteners:
o 1 red, 1 green, 1 blue, 1 yellow
