Week 21: Vibe climb into first
Winners of four games
in less than 48 hours, the
Kamloops Vibe climbed
from fourth to first in the
standings after Week 21.
The Vibe gave up one
goal in the four games,
and moved one point
ahead of both the Meadow Ridge Moose and Fraser Valley Jets, and two
ahead of the Richmond
Devils.
Kamloops began their
weekend with a 2-1
victory over the Surrey
Mavericks at the North
Surrey Recreation Centre,
getting the winning goal
from Melinda Smith with
just 14 seconds to play.
Catriona Young netted
the other Kamloops goal,
with Vanessa Schulz relying for the Mavericks.
Stacey Wilson made 49
saves on 51 shots in the
Surrey goal.
The Vibe then blanked
the defending provincial
champion South Fraser
TNT Saturday afternoon
at Planet Ice - Delta,
getting goals from Emily
Edmundson and Rochelle
Smith, as well as a 13save shutout from Ashley
Fischer.
Against the Moose Saturday night in Pitt Meadows, Jackie Sollis, Avery
Hutton and Rochelle
Smith were the goal scor-
ers, while Fischer made
19 saves for the shutout.
The Vibe completed
their perfect weekend
with a 1-0 triumph over
the Fraser Valley Jets on a
goal by Edmundson and a
third consecutive shutout
by Fisher, who made 25
saves.
The Jets also came up
just one goal short Saturday night in Richmond,
where the Richmond
Devils edged Fraser Valley
3-2. Holly Gill, Deanna
Mohr and Jane Gregory-Herbold scored for
the Devils, with Alannah
Kedra netting both goals
for the Jets.
The other two games
of the weekend were
played in Victoria, where
the Island Surge swept
the TWU Titans in a twogame series.
Katie Little scored four
times and added two
assists in a 9-2 Surge win
Saturday night. Alexandra Villarin with two
goals, Sarah Leblanc, Pam
Lou-Poy, Alisha Choy also
scored for the winners.
Olivia Hutchinson and
Jessica Golz replied for
the Titans.
Leblanc, Choy, Little,
Talyce Henkel and Nicole
Latreille tallied for the
Island in a 5-2 win Sunday
morning. Hutchinson and
Adriene Duguay were the
TWU goal scorers.
The Kamloops Vibe have moved into first-place after winning four games last weekend.

her league-leading scoring total in two games
against the TWU Titans. She tallied four times
and added two assists in a 9-2 win Saturday,
then scored another goal in Sunday’s 5-2 victory.

Third Star: Pam Lou-Poy (Island Surge)
Pam Lou-Poy moved into third place in the
league scoring race, collecting six points in
two games against the TWU Titans, including
a goal and four assists in Saturday’s win.
In 25 games played, Lou-Poy has 11 goals
and 31 points.
