Final Instructions Round 10.
Venue: Vereeniging Kart Circuit.

1. Preamble.
This event is run under the rules as published in the 2015 Prokart Super Single Endurance Series rules and any drivers
bulletins published within 7 days of the event. Any final instructions or drivers bulletins posted on the notice board in the club
house, before or during the event may alter, but not super cede, the rules for this event only. The objective of the series is to
provide for entry level, low cost and above all fun filled racing. Be patient, be polite and enjoy the day.
2. Scrutinizing of karts.
All karts MUST be presented for scrutinizing and tyre marking at the scrutinizing bay.. The scrutinizer will not come looking for
you.No karts will be permitted on the circuit without a scrutinizing sticker or the required minimum lighting..
3. Formats for the day.
Prokart SSS Endurance class: 1 x 2.5 hour and 3 x 45 minute heats, No driver changes are required in heats 2, 3 and 4. No
driver may drive for more than 60 minutes in the 2.5 hour race. In the 2.5 hour heat 1, a minimum of 2 driver change pit stops
are required, but no driver change pit stops will be permitted after a “35 minute to go” board has been displayed. Penalty for
infringement: 1 lap deduction per minute that a driver change is made after “35 minute to go “board is displayed.
Prokart 390 Sprint class: 1 x 1 hour heat and 3 x 30 minute heats. These heats will run in conjunction with the Endurance
class. The finish of each heat will be indicated by the display of the Chequered and Blue flags. The Sprint class karts will
maintain racing speed and enter the pits at the end of the lap on which the Chequered and Blue flag is displayed.
Prokart 270 Senior class: 3 x 15 lap heats.
Prokart Midgets class: 3 x 15 lap heats
Prokart Minion class: 3 x 10 lap heats (short circuit).
4. Practice and Qualifying.
There will be a free practice sessions per class as per the race day program. Qualifying will be incorporated with the practice
session. After heat 1 all grids will be formed up per the finishing position in the previous heat.
5. Start and grid line up.
Start Procedure. All heats and races will be standing starts after a one lap warm up.
Karts must be formed up on the dummy grid in the parc ferme area at least 10 minutes before the race in progress
finishes.
6. Fuel supply and refuelling.
Practice fuel and race fuel must be supplied by competitors. Only either 93 or 95 octane pump fuel is permitted.
Refuelling and driver changes in the ProkartSSS Endurance and 390 Sprint classes will take place in the dummy grid area
demarcated by orange cones immediately in front of the scale area.
NB: Only three team members are allowed in the area for refuelling. All other team members MUST remain behind the
fence separating the refuelling area from the pit lane. Penalty for infringement is 2 lap deduction.
Please refer to rule 8.2 Refuelling for the refuelling procedure during the race. Driver must have exited the kart before
refuelling can commence. As this is a safety related issue the penalty for infringing this rule is exclusion from the results.
7. Scale procedure.
From the start of qualifying all karts must cross the scale before proceeding to the pit, refuelling or driver change areas. The
scale is not a drive on scale. Karts will stop at the cones, exit the kart and push it onto the scale. The kart must be pushed off
the scale before the driver re-enters the kart to proceed to driver change area or pits. Failure to exit the kart and push it onto
and off the scale will result in a drive through penalty. It is the driver’s right to query a scale reading and demand to be re
weighed. Once a kart leaves the scale area, the weight recorded is the official weight.
NB: Only the driver is allowed in the scale area. If other team members enter the scale area while a kart is being
weighed, an automatic drive through penalty will be applied.
8. Entry onto circuit from pit lane.
Entry onto the circuit from the pit lane will be controlled by the pit lane marshal. Please obey the marshal’s instructions, as he is
there to ensure safe entry onto the circuit. Failure to obey the pit lane marshal instructions will result in a drive through
penalty.
9. Driving in the pits.
The speed limit in the pits is a fast walking pace. Speeding in the pits will attract a STOP/GO penalty, which does not count as
one of the five compulsory pit stops. Entry to the circuit is restricted to the point immediately in front of the refuelling bay.

10. End of race.
The end of the race will occur immediately the leading kart passes the finish line on or closest to the allocated race time. The
waving of the chequered flag will signal the end of the race. All karts will proceed to Parc Ferme at reduced pace.
11. Protests and incidents.
Teams are reminded that a protest or incident, will only be considered if submitted in writing together with the protest fee within
30 minutes of the incident occurring. No verbal protest or incident report will be considered under any circumstances.
Only team managers may submit protests or incidents reports. Please refer to rule 9.2 Protests.
12. Parc Ferme technical inspection.
All karts will return to parc ferme at the end of the event including karts that have completed two thirds of the race, but were not
on the track at the finish. Any kart qualifying for points that does not return to parc ferme after the event will be disqualified.
Any karts with broken engine seals will have the engines impounded for stripping and checking. Any qualifying kart not
presented in parc ferme after the race will attract an automatic strip at the next event.
13. Transponders.
Teams will be issued a transponder on presentation of a team members South African driver’s licence. It is the team’s
responsibility to return transponders to the race organiser before leaving the circuit and reclaim your driver’s licence. Failure to
do so will attract a fine of R300-00.
14. General.
By the submission and acceptance of your entry it is understood that all teams and drivers know and understand the rules,
have signed the “Code of Conduct”, and all flag signals are in accordance with normally accepted practice of karting rules of the
CIK. All teams and drivers are aware of the penalties that may be imposed for not complying with the rules. The decisions of
the Clerk of the Course are final unless an official protest has been lodged in accordance with the provisions of the rules.
