Caffi’r Gader is our school’s canteen which is run by the school and not by local authority. Our food is supplied locally, and has recently received a 5 food hygiene rating, which is the highest possible rating. The cafe is very popular as the food is fresh and tasty. There is always a wide range of food available from the wide range of choice like soup, toast, hot-cross buns which is available on break time, from curries, pasta bakes and roast dinners at lunch time. Also the cafe is open every morning providing us with breakfast, e.g toast, cereal, and juices. And it is also open after school. The staff that work in Caffi’r Gader are always very pleasant and helpful, and are always open to new ideas from the pupils and teachers about how to improve our cafe. Results of our Questionnaire On a scale of 1-10 (1=bad, 10=very good) How good is the Cafi in your opinion? 0 people said- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 People said- 6 3 People said-7 1 Person said-8 5 People said-9 1 Person said-10 The favourite dishes vary from between fish fingers mash and beans, tuna pasta and peas, toast, burger, turkey and rice, pizza and chips, roast dinner, jacket potato, fish cakes and the salad bar. She says.. “ Caffi’r Gader has been running for about 2 years now, giving pupils the best quality of food inspired me to start it. In my opinion the only thing that I can think of that could be improved is the queuing , and also the choice given at Caffi’r Gader. The most popular dishes we serve are our curries and also our roast dinners. I believe that Caffi’r Gader is unique because we recycle everything from tins, paper, plastic bottles, and paper. We also have brown bins where pupils dispose of their food waste in bins. Our main plans for the future of Caffi’r Gader are we are going to get a shmoo machine and Jublee frozen drinks. Also we will be having a Mexican day after Easter” Recently there has been a screen placed on the wall by where all the pupils queue. This is great because it gives you time to decide what you’ll be wanting from the cafe, and not keeping the queue waiting. Also there is a vending machine places that provides a sandwich, or bap, a muffin or cake and a healthy drink which all together only costs £2.00. So if you are visiting our school don’t forget to pop into our cafe! Reported by Caitlin and Bethany.
