1) Divide the students into groups of 3-4
2) Pass the worksheet and explain to the students how
to set up their own new school
(They must decide the school’s name, choose 5 facilities,
class size, principal’s name, curriculum, school uniform
(design), and school rules. Students should…
*choose a celebrity, a student/teacher, or
character as principal
*decide to have uniforms (or not) & design their
uniform or school seal (draw)
*choose 5 facilities from choices printed on A4
sheets (or written) on board:

3) Give the groups 10-15min to complete sections 1-6
(top half)
4) Ask each group to share one thing (school name,
principal, etc) with the class. Then give the students
10-15min to write 6 school rules (3 can, 3 cannot) and
finish. It’s a good idea to first review verbs they may
need
(bring, wear, drive, use, eat, come by~).
5) Students choose the best worksheet from their group
to post on the chalkboard. Give each student 2 small
seal stickers which they use to vote for the best new
school (they can vote twice for 1 or once for 2 different
schools).
Comments:
*If you’re worried your students will take too long to
decide, have the whole class make 1 (or 2) new school(s)
and assign each group a part from the top-half then have
them make 6 rules. Put the final product together and
present in the next class!
