Close follow-up with Global Planning & Global Sourcing in order to tackle any production shortages & constraints. Sourcing Change Projects – ensure smooth transition and implementation for new products that are transferred from other JTI locations or for new production lines 1 TPD2 means Tobacco Products Directive 2, where all EU cigarettes will be affected by new health warnings and format changes. Factories are not allowed to produce current cigarettes after May 2016, but markets are allowed to sell old products for one more year 2 Annual & Strategic Plan (JTI’s plan for the next 3 years) – Calculations related to factory’s loading level, available capacity, headcount requirements, etc for all production lines. Also, filters & tobacco production is consolidated in the same file and shared with top management OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) Improvement Task Team – Responsible with continous planning improvement activities such as: production materials analysis & comparisons in order to achieve the best solution in terms of machine-product, brand changes evaluation in terms of production scheduling Coordination of engineering projects, production trainings, tests of new materials with production planning Daily production backlog reporting Name and address of employer Type of business or sector Dates Occupation or position held Main activities and responsibilities Japan Tobacco International Manufacturing, 9-9A B-dul Dimitrie Pompei, district 2, Bucharest, Romania Tobacco Industry 01.08.2013 – 01.04.2014 (7 months) Production Analyst - Production Department All the activities from the internship position were transferred to the new position, while also adding two new projects: Optimize brand change project: I was coordinator in this project, starting from January 2014. Together with people from quality, engineering and planning departments, we analyzed ways of optimizing orders for typical product configurations in order to reduce rejects and to increase machinery KPIs. The plan was to perform deep analysis for 3 pilot lines and to perform practical tests in order to see what are the best possible solutions in terms of products for these workcenters. Brand chang was reduced in average by 10 minutes. Employee attendence system: I created a new attendence system that is currently used by each shift manager in order to keep track of employee’s vacations, medical leave, recovery, etc. In addition, statistics will be created based on the production callendar so that managers can always know if absenteism is coverd for each production line, both in terms of operators and mechanics. Coordinator in the internship programme: My aim was to provide a good work experience for the intern and to show him how to tackle production analysis problems. Also, I involved him in all projects that I was part of in order to speed up the learning process. When the user wishes to view data, everything is calculated automatically depending on his input. This report is presented each week by the Production Manager to the Top Management Team. Global Supply Chain Analytics (GSCA) – Power user & implementation in Romania: GSCA is a global project that has the role to consolidate all factory’s KPI in a single software application. There were 5 pilot factories involved in the process and two power users for each location. I was responsible with preparing test scripts and databases with the entire factory in order to test the application and to make sure the results will be displayed correctly. All cigarettes and filters lines were configured into the system. More than 200 people were trained and the system “Go-Live” took place as planned. Quality complaints task team - I was part of the task team that was responsible with quality complaints received from the markets. I created a statistical database with all complaints and then split them into 3 categories: cigarettes, packs and shipping cases. I was accountable with complaints related to cigarettes. Annual & Strategic Plan (JTI’s plan for the next 3 years) - I was involved in preparing back-up files that could sustain management’s assumptions related to machinery efficiency targets, materials losses, headcount, cigarettes reject ratio and others. Also, I used statiscal data in order to predict future KPIs values for the next three years. Also, during the hot season, with the help of a damper located inside the ductwork, the excess heat is sent to the outdoor environment. LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) Project - close colaboration with the Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Production and Continous Improvment (CI) departments and in order to find solutions of locking and taging equipment that is undertaking different maitenance in order to avoid any injuries for the workers. I developed the writen procedures and designed the panels within the factory that contain the locks, tags and other locking devices - collaboration with different suppliers for acquisitions and technical offers related to pumps, water tanks, water treatment systems, chillers Accomplishments The ‘Heat Recovery System” project won the JTI EHS Excellence Award in the Environment Category (the EHS Excellence Award is a internal competition for JTI factories around the world, where each location participates with different projects of energy recovery, sustainability, safety, improvement etc).
