Head-to-head:
This is the third of eight meetings on the season between the Wolf Pack and the Hershey Bears, top affiliate of the Washington
Capitals, and the second of four Hershey visits to the XL Center. The Wolf Pack have taken both of the first two matchups, 3-2 in
overtime here in Hartford October 26 and 5-4 in Hershey December 17. Ryan Graves is the leading Wolf Pack scorer in the series,
with 1-2-3, and Paul Carey (2-1-3) and Travis Boyd (1-2-3) share the Hershey scoring lead. The Wolf Pack were 3-0-1-0 in a fourgame season series between the two teams last season, and swept a pair of battles here in Hartford, winning 4-3 in a shootout
December 4 and 5-1 on April 1. All-time vs. the Bears, the Wolf Pack are 26(W)-17(L)-2(T)-2(OTL)-1(SOL) in 48 meetings, and 11(W)10(L)-2(T)-1(OTL) here in Hartford.
Wolf Pack Notebook:
The Wolf Pack (15-23-3-1, 34 pts., .405) snapped a three-game losing streak Sunday in their last action, with a 5-2 win at Providence.
Chris Brown scored twice, for his first multiple-point game of the season, and Mat Bodie and Marek Hrivik equaled Wolf Pack season
highs for points with 1-2-3 each. Adam Tambellini also scored, giving him at least a point in four of the last five games (1-3-4), and
Mackenzie Skapski chalked up his first AHL win of the season in net, making 33 saves. Hrivik has goals in three of his last four AHL
games (3-3-6), and Bodie has at least a point in five of his last six outings (1-6-7). This is the fourth game of a stretch in which the Wolf
Pack play six out of eight games at home.
Bears Notebook:
The Bears (19-13-7-2, 47 pts., .573) saw a losing streak grow to four games in their last contest, a 5-1 home setback vs. Lehigh Valley
Sunday. That dropped Hershey to 1-7-2-0 in its last ten games, after the Bears had lost only six times in regulation in their first 31
outings (18-6-5-2). This is the first of four straight road games for the Bears, who are 6-7-2-1 in enemy rinks on the season. Former
Wolf Pack Chris Bourque scored Hershey’s only goal Sunday, his tenth of the season. Team points leader Travis Boyd had an
assist, his 25th of the season (10-25-35 in 41 GP), which ties him for seventh in the AHL in that department, and Chandler Stephenson
had the other helper. Joe Cannata made 25 saves in the Hershey net.
