Pupil Premium 2016-2017 What is the Pupil Premium? The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools by the Government. The funding is given to support the progress and achievement of pupils who have registered for free school meals, or any looked after children or who are adopted or leave care under a Special Guardianship Order or a Residence Order, or whose parents are serving members of the Armed Forces. On a national level, pupils within these groups often progress less well in education than other pupils of their age. The Government believes that the Pupil Premium is the best way to address these current inequalities in the attainment of pupils. Schools can decide for themselves how to spend the additional Pupil Premium funding to support their pupils in the most appropriate ways. For 2015-2016 the school was awarded £192,610. For 2016-2017 the school was awarded £200,090. Fairfield and the Pupil Premium At Fairfield, we strive to help all of our pupils to achieve their potential.
