University-Wide Scholarships

Ambling Scholarship
To provide scholarships to students living in the University Commons and who display academic
achievement. Preference will be given to students studying real estate, finance, and urban
policy studies.

Ernest Elwood Wright Jr. Scholarship
To provide scholarships to deserving students who have demonstrated financial need by
the Student Financial Aid Office; who have a strong drive and commitment to complete his
or her education; and who have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Preference
will be given to students from communities outside the metropolitan Atlanta area.

Ezzard Scholarship
To provide scholarships to deserving students attending, scheduled to attend, or planning
to attend GSU.

Frederick V. Sherwood and Daniel T. Sims Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic
achievement. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale or be an entering
freshman who has been accepted to GSU with an overall high school GPA of 3.2 or higher on
a 4.0 scale.

George M. Sparks Scholarship
To provide scholarships for undergraduate study or graduate work at Georgia State
University. Applicant must need financial assistance and display good academic
standing. Preference is given to students who have worked or are working while going to
school.

Georgia State University Minority Scholarship
To provide scholarships to students who are attending or scheduled to attend Georgia State
University and have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Currently enrolled
students must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Transfer students must have at least a
2.8 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. Entering freshmen who have been accepted to GSU must
have a minimum 2.8 overall high school GPA on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship funds will be
restricted to students for the purpose of purchasing textbooks.

Kathleen D. Crouch Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships to students with demonstrated financial need and proven
academic achievement. Preference will be given to older students who wish to further
their education at GSU.

Leonard Jenkins Underrepresented Student Education Fund
To provide scholarships to students who are enrolled full time, have demonstrated
financial need, and are in good academic standing. Preference will be given to
underrepresented students.

Leszek Wegrzyn
To provide scholarships to graduate students with demonstrated financial need and
academic achievement. Preference will be given to students who indicate they are
members of the Christian faith.

Marcia Baker Carroll and Almand “Bo” Carroll Scholarship
To provide scholarships to students who meet the following criteria: have applied to GSU
prior to, or concurrent with, applying for this scholarship; have a minimum high school
GPA of a 3.0; have demonstrated achievement in academic areas through achieving a
minimum SAT 1 score of 1150 or minimum ACT composite score of 27; maintain full-time
enrollment at GSU and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 during freshman and sophomore
years, and 3.2 cumulative GPA during junior and senior years to remain eligible for the full
award; and have demonstrated financial need. The selection committee shall give
preference to students who have held a job while in high school.

Mary Kathleen Berry University-Wide Scholarship
To provide support to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic
performance and who, without assistance, may be unable to complete their college
education at Georgia State University.

Mu Rho Sigma Sorority Scholarship
To provide scholarships to students who are second semester juniors, seniors, or graduate
students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need and
have a history of community service at the university or in the community. Preference will
be given to married or formerly married female students, with additional priority given to
Mu Rho Sigma members, alumna, or offspring of Mu Rho Sigma members.

Nell Trotter Endowed Scholarship
To provide scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students who display academic
achievement and are active in campus and community involvement.

Philippine Charity Foundation Fellowship
This fellowship is open to all graduate-level Philippine-American students who have
documented financial need with the Georgia State University Office of Financial Aid and a
current GPA of 3.0 or above at the graduate level.

Roy Reeves Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum
GPA of 2.0 who is in good academic standing. Preference will be given to students who are
full time employees of the Georgia State University Police Department.

Steven and Lisa Asplundh Family Foundation Scholarship
To provide scholarships to deserving undergraduate or graduate students, with preference
given to students who graduated from The Academy of the New Church High School.

William M. Suttles Endowed Scholarship
To provide support to students who, without assistance, may be unable to complete their
college education at Georgia State University. The scholarship will be awarded to rising

Atlanta Hawks Foundation Scholarship Program
The purpose of the Atlanta Hawks Foundation Scholarship Fund is to provide a scholarship
to support incoming first-year University students who reside in the State of Georgia and
have been involved in community service during their high school years. Each year, one
student will be selected to receive a scholarship of $2,500, renewable for up to four years,
provided the student maintains full-time enrollment and at least a 2.8 GSU cumulative
institutional GPA.

Bennett A. Brown scholarship
To provide scholarships to students with a documented language-based learning disability
(a learning disability which substantially limits your ability to read, write, or comprehend
spoken language) and be registered with the Margaret A. Staton Office of Disability Services
at Georgia State University. Students must also have a demonstrated financial need and be
entering freshman accepted for admission or an undergraduate already enrolled.

Goizueta Foundation Latino Leadership Pipeline Scholarship
The Goizueta Foundation Latino Leadership Pipeline Scholarships are designed to increase
the number of students of Hispanic/Latino origin who enroll and complete their
undergraduate degrees at Georgia State, in addition to providing mentors, internships, and
community service experiences to these students so that they can become the leaders of
the future.

Margaret A. Staton Scholarship
To provide scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students with documented
disabilities. Students must be registered with the Margaret A. Staton Office of Disability
Services. Undergraduate students must have completed at least one semester at Georgia
State University and have maintained a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Graduate students must be
accepted into, or currently participating in a specific graduate or professional program at
GSU and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Marty Cason Memorial Scholarship
To provide one or more annual scholarship awards to enable or assist a Georgia State
University student to participate in the kayak-training program within the Touch the Earth
Outdoor Program.

Parents Association Scholarship
To provide scholarship funds for students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) are members of
the Georgia State University Parents Association. Applicants must be in good academic and

possess a strong commitment to Georgia State University.

The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship
The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholars Fund will provide 45 scholarships for first
generation college students over the next four years, beginning in 2012. First generation
students are defined as those applicants who have had neither a parent nor sibling attend
college. Recipients will receive $5,000 per year, renewable for four years dependent on
maintaining a 3.0 GPA, full-time enrollment, and enrollment in a Freshman Learning
Community their first semester. Additional support for adjusting to college life and
professional development will also be made available
