CLUB PLAYER’S CHAMPIONSHIP
Final round
Ace of Clubs
The fifth and final round of the new series of County non-expert Pairs competitions took
place in Churchdown on Sunday 14th April. The event also incorporated the Ace of Clubs
final. The event was hosted extremely well by Churchdown Bridge Club, who made all their
guests feel exceptionally welcome and provided us all with a well catered high tea
The event was won by Ashok Kwatra and David Simons, who cemented their position at the
head of the overall Club Player’s Championship. The runners up in the Ace of Clubs were
Eira Arkley and Gillian Grant Duff with Margaret Thomas and Russell Barter third.
The first four places in the final round went to Cheltenham pairs and as a result Cheltenham
ran out as convincing winners for the inaugural Championship
