Beading needles, Variegated hand stitching threads, scraps of velvet, cotton batiks, and organza.

If you have an easel bring it with you, don’t buy one especially for this course.
Sarah recommends The Drawing Room/Gordon Harris or a similar quality arts supply
shop for purchasing equipment.
This cost will vary hugely as I imagine many participants will already have supplies.
At a rough estimate approx. $20-30 for paper and approx. $50 for the rest.
But could be a lot more or less depending on quantity and quality and how much has to be
purchased.
Cartridge paper, large sheets, x 10
Some sheets and or sketch pad of watercolour grade paper 300gsm, if students think they will be
wanting to use washes and inks.
Sketch pad/s of various sizes at students own discretion
At least1 x 2B,3B and 6B Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils.
Compressed charcoal sticks, medium and soft, my favourite is Faber-Castell PITT
Watercolour pencils (optional, but great fun)
Conte sticks, sepia and white.
Drawing ink and bamboo to make drawing sticks.

Acrylic paints

Soft Rubber

Boyle River Photography Field Trip – Venue : Classes and Accommodation at the Boyle River
Outdoor Education Centre ( please note we would like all students to be at the venue by 7pm on
Friday night as there will be an introduction to the course then). Remember to allow 2.45 hours
travel time from Christchurch or approx. 45 minutes from Hanmer Springs.
