During this past school year, we wanted your children to learn a
simple fact –
Everyone deserves to be respected, but trust is earned. We
have taught that respect means that no one deserves to be
harassed for the way they look, that everyone is entitled to live
peacefully with their opinions and lifestyle choices, that respect
means standing up and speaking up for those who are bullied, and
that a dating relationship is no place for violence. We have taught
that trust is earned, not everyone looks out for the good of another,
sometimes those we call friends enable us to make poor choices,
and often successful futures depend on the relationships we have
allowed ourselves to develop.
