Toy Train (Fun Time)
Toy train brings with it a lot of excitement, fun and entertainment for our kids. This train helps in
maintaining a perfect balance between studies and play. A beautiful, spacious and comfortable
seating arrangement is the speciality of our toy-train. This ride is one of the favourite time pass
for our tiny stars of Pre-primary.

We follow the Montessori and kindergarten approaches to ensure early delivery of quality
education. DPS Castle of Dreams believes that children aren’t to be moulded; but are to be

by rote.

outlook to our teachers for identifying a child’s interest and helps him achieve his full potential.

The syllabus is designed with the objective to offer a warm and congenial learning environment
where a child explores new heights. It includes a broad spectrum of skills enhancement: Bodily
kinesthetic naturalistic, inter / intra personal, linguistic, spatial or music and so on.
Our specially designed curriculum provides strong foundation of social, emotional, physical and
academic skills to mould your child into a multitalented individual. Here a child acquires
comprehensive knowledge and skills through fun-filled activities.
Reading skills
Reading includes letter recognition and its association of sounds, awareness of phonetics,
promoting picture reading through picture talk, sight words, rhymes and story gradually moving
to framing simple sentences related to day to day conversation.
Logical Reasoning
Apart from language, analytical and logical reasoning is taken care through recognition and
association of numbers with values, steadily moving to simple calculations like addition and
subtraction. On the academic front, children adhere to the basics of three subjects- English,
Hindi and Math.
A more complicated approach in preps curriculum including concepts of vowels & consonants,
reading three letter words and consisting of ‘ee’, ‘oo’, words ending with ‘ang’, ‘ong’ and ‘ing’;
concepts of singular, plural, sentence framing with that, those, these along with prepositions
making them confident in small paragraph. More emphasis is given on communication skills
through story narration, rhymes (show & tell) and conversations related to monthly theme.
Hindi (our mother tongue)
Promoting correct usage of our mother-tongue is taken care by our expert teaching staff. The
curriculum includes recognition and reading of ‘swar’ and ‘vyanjan’, gradually moving to
reading and writing of two, three and four letter words and sentences.
The specially designed theme based curriculum allows children to gain awareness about a
specific theme every month. An environment is created in line with the month’s theme or
concept and rhymes, story, art & craft are also planned in harmony to the particular theme.
Activities
Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me & I understand. Co-curricular
activities play a vital role in the overall development of a child. They are meant to supplement,
extend and enhance our curriculum and provide an opportunity to practice the acquired skills
and knowledge. At DPS Castle of Dreams, equal emphasis is given to academics and
co-curricular activities. The activities include color days, shape zone, treasure hunt,
environment day and festival celebrations. Various competitions are also planned specifically
for refining the social and motor skills, sharing, being independent, reinforcement of concepts
and above all, the overall grooming of child’s personality.
Thematic activity planning is a great learning for the pre-primary kids. We have various themes
in all three divisions of pre-primary (Pre-nursery, Nursery & Prep) where age appropriate,
interesting, purposeful and objective oriented activities are planned for kids. Our themes
include fruits and vegetables, animals, transport, helpers, seasons, heritage of India, planet
Earth, sports, homes and shelters, living safely and so on having broad spectrum of knowledge
and understanding of surroundings and nature.
All the activities, competitions, field trips and celebrations are planned in accordance to various
themes and towards skill enhancement of a child.
Play activities
Play time activities with the use of beads, wires, leaves, pebbles, clay, sand, nesting toys and
mosaic toy tiles help in developing gross and fine motor skills and satisfy kids’ natural curiosities
through observing and discovering in a natural environment.
Story telling and Puppet show
Story telling sessions with (no single moral) realistic experiences by use of lots of puppets help
them to learn life skills like sharing, honesty, truth and helping others in need which promotes self
control and inner discipline.
A pre-primary child cannot learn values or life skills, merely by listening about what is good or bad
but through their own meaningful experiences designed purposefully for them.
Role Play and Drama
DPS Castle of Dreams provides hands on experience of role play, dramatization for self
expression and introduction of concepts, as they learn and retain things when they perform
themselves. Stage exposure instills confidence in children. We plan an array of assemblies and
competitions based on various festivals and cultural diversity.
Yoga & Aerobics
Weekly activities like yoga, aerobics, puppet and music theatre provides meaningful learning
experiences to the children and promotes interpersonal relations and peer group learning.
Pre-primary education is development oriented and not syllabus oriented. An attempt towards
educating, rather nurturing young minds is made by DPS Castle of Dreams while taking care of all
