customers per month.
Software applications are needed in order to operate and maintain
this business and to furthermore increase the level success.
Project Proposal
Potential Software Applications:
The software applications would meet the purpose,
objectives, and serve the volume of the business.
The options were studied by analyzing the managerial
information output and the advantages of each potential
application.
After the carful study, the business owners decided to go
with the Point-of-Sale system.
Feasibility Study/Planning Phase
A resource plan was made by identifying the needs and requirements
of designing the POS system.
It also contained a resources outline where all the needed equipment
were written down and classified as existing or new resources, followed by
a description of both existing and new resources
Feasibility Study/Planning Phase
The solution to the problem was that flexible, adjustable,
capable of adding extensions system was needed.
In addition to having a system that increases efficiency and
reduces waste in inventory and labor cost.
The Point of Sale (POS) system was the solution to the
problem.
Feasibility Study/Planning Phase
The scope of the business contained the following main reports
Operational decision-making reports:
the inventory control and the current sales
Strategic decision-making reports
the sales forecast measurements
Tactical/management control decision-making reports
the customer tracking system
Application Design
Designing the user interface
The user interface contained the seven forms in addition to two links, the
first link for the tables and the second one for the reports. Menu, inventory,
invoice, employee, customers, shipment, and suppliers forms were created.
Application Design
The application design part also contained a couple of graphical
model and they were DFD and RDM for the entire tables and processes.
Prototyping/Data Definitions
This part contained further additions to the switchboard and forms. All
forms were updated to contain two special features which are the search
combo-box and the custom sort options.
In the inventory form in particular, an additional conditional formatting on
the quantity field was applied, in order to send out an alert about the time
needed to make the new order.
Moreover, graphs were generated that show and provide
detailed results of each report.
Implementation Phase
Conclusion and Recommendation
A new system was needed to organize the paper work, save time, save effort
and keep the information stored securely and recoverably.
We created a Point-of-Sales system that functions many benefits
In the future, Kanauika will face large amount of date due to the branches
around the region
Hiring system specialists in each city will have a positive impact on the
system
Training program is a key success factor whenever an update
to the system is made.
