Exhausted Eligibility
Medical Scholarship
Per Bylaw 11.01.4, a student-coach is any coach who is a student-athlete who has exhausted his or her eligibility in
the sport or has become injured to the point that he or she is unable to practice or compete in any sport ever again,
and who meets the following additional criteria:
1. You must be currently enrolled at the institution in which you participated in intercollegiate athletics.
2. You must be completing the requirements for your first baccalaureate degree.
3. You must be a full-time student, unless you are in your final semester of your degree program.
4. You may not receive compensation or remuneration from UA other than the financial aid that could be received
as a student-athlete and expenses incurred on road trips that are received by individual team members.
5. You may not contact or evaluate prospective student-athletes off campus or scout opponents off campus. In
addition, you may not perform any recruiting coordination functions (see Bylaw 11.7.1.2).
6. You may not be employed within the athletic department without having any compensation received counted in
your financial aid limitations.
7. You may receive a free meal incidental to organized team activities, other than training table, or in conjunction
with official visits.
8. You may receive four complimentary admissions to games using the player pass list. You may not permit
current student-athletes to use any of your complimentary admissions, and you may not sell the complimentary
admissions for any amount or exchange them for any item of value. You may not provide complimentary
admissions to any prospective student-athlete other than your family members.
By affixing my signature below, I acknowledge that the UA Athletic Department has advised me of permissible
NCAA and Pac-12 legislation. I understand that that any failure to adhere to the NCAA and Pac-12 Bylaws and
institutional policies will result in a violation that may affect the athletics eligibility of any current or prospective
student-athlete(s) involved, thus resulting in my immediate termination and permanent dissociation from the UA
athletics department. I have read this policy and have been afforded the opportunity to ask questions.
In addition, I certify that (1) I am not an agent (e.g. sports agent, marketing agent or financial advisor to athletes) or
any such agent’s employee, representative or affiliate (including “runners”), (2) I have not, and will not, arrange,
provide or promise any benefits to any UA student-athlete or prospective student-athlete (or their relatives or
friends) or done so on behalf of anyone else, and (3) I have not, and will not, have any contact with any UA
prospective student-athlete (or their relatives or friends) off UA’s campus.
I agree to abide by all the rules and regulations set forth by UA, the Pac-12 Conference, and the NCAA. In addition,
I fully understand the principals and applications of this document and have been advised and understand the
provisions set forth under NCAA Bylaws 16.02.3 and 10.1 & 10.3.
