THE FELL FOOT TIME TRIAL (5m/2150ft)
Route Description
Start from gate at Fell Foot cottage (GR.598445), ascend to Blindhurst Saddle
(kissing gate) then continue on E side of wall on path to gate at 1707ft top of
Fairsnape Fell (CP1). Pass through gate and descend rough fell to ‘Wooly Wall
Corner’ (CP2). Ascend as per Fiendsdale course to trig at Paddy’s Pole (CP3).
Continue along main path to 2nd gate –’Blindhurst Fell gate’ (CP4), pass through
gate and descend rough fell to wall corner – ‘Claggy’s Corner’ (CP5). Ascend to
summit of Parlick (CP6), pass through kissing gate and descend to finish at
gate by Fell Foot cottage.

Rules of Engagement.
Times must be set on Wednesdays (no restriction on time of day).
Times must be reported to the keeper of leagues (AW) within one day.
You must start from the gate next to Fell Foot Cottage.
You must pass through the gate at Blindhurst Saddle then;
At CP1 you must pass through the kissing gate.
At CP2 you must touch the wall marker.
At CP3 you must touch the trig-point
At CP4 you must pass through the kissing gate.
At CP5 you must touch the wall marker.
At CP6 you must pass through the kissing gate.
At the finish you must touch the gate by Fell Foot Cottage.
Time categories:
Sub-60 mins - Superhound
60-65 mins - Greyhound
65-75 mins - Foxhound
75-85 mins - Wolfhound
85-95 mins - Bloodhound
over 95 mins - Bassett Hound
NB- a time exactly on a time boundary will be counted as the next category below
(eg 65.00mins = Foxhound)

Route Description
Start from gate at Fell Foot cottage (GR.598445), Ascend to summit of Parlick
(GR.595450) and descend steeply to wall corner – ‘Claggy’s Corner’
(GR.592452) ascend diagonally to Blindhurst Fell Gate (GR.597457) then
continue on main path to trig at Paddy’s Pole (GR.591468). Descend rough fell
to ‘Wooly Wall Corner’ (GR.587476) then ascend to gate at 1707ft top of
Fairsnape Fell (GR.597472). Pass through gate and turn R to follow good path
to pass through gate at Blindhurst Saddle and then descend by any route to
finish at gate by Fell Foot cottage.
