State Representative George Kenney presents a
check on opening day to the Fox Chase Soccer
Club in the amount of $15,000. Thank you
George Kenney for your continued support of the
Fox Chase Soccer Club and its members.
Presidents Message
Opening day was a huge success, weather could not have been better. The Fox Chase Soccer Club (FCSC) would like to
thank State Representative George Kenney, Councilman Brian O’Neill, State Senator Shirley Kitchen, and staff from State
Speaker John Perzel’s office for attending our opening day.
I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to State Rep George Kenney who presented the club with a much
needed $15,000 State Grant Check for Capital Improvements. George has always made himself available and is a true
friend of FCSC. To State Speaker John Perzel for obtaining grants and other funds for various projects throughout the
years and for his continued support. To Councilman Brian O’Neill for being a hard worker and a major long time supporter
of FCSC. To State Senator Shirley Kitchen for working with us and being responsive to our needs. Please remember
come election day our hard working politicians who have always been good to us by responding to our needs and for
being major long time supporters of FCSC and its members. We look forward to working closely with them for many years
to come.
The FCSC has 64 teams this fall and an additional 138 players registered with our 4 year old Futures program. This is an
enormous undertaking that takes a lot of volunteers to coordinate. Organizations our size can at times generate
questions, concerns or even complaints. If your request cannot be addressed up at the fields, please feel free to contact
the appropriate commissioner or director via our web site or information hotline. If additional concerns arise or you are not
satisfied please feel free to contact me any time. Ed Lieber: 216-663-9999

Fundraisers
The FCSC has three (3) fundraisers going on this year; we continue to search out new and unique ways to make
fundraising at FCSC easy and exciting. We also cannot do this without your help. We need to continue to find ways to
help offset the increased cost of operating a soccer club our size. We will continue to strive and maintain a reasonable
registration fee for all families.
Calendar Fundraiser:
We would like to thank all players and parents who participated in our Annual Calendar Fundraiser. This is our main
fundraiser for the club and matches the 3 digit Daily Number during the month of October.
Uniroyal:
All players should have received a Uniroyal coupon for a free soccer ball from their coach. Uniroyal will be donating $2.00
to FCSC for every tire sold to the general public from October 1 through October 30, 2004. You can also enter to win a
free soccer clinic for your team with Judy Foudy, captain of the US Woman’s National team. There is also one coupon
worth up to $40.00 off tires. All information is available on the flyer.
Modell’s:
Players will receive a Modell’s coupon from their coach during the 1st week of November. Families will receive a 10%
discount towards purchases made at any Modell’s store between November 19 and December 9, 2004. This coupon can
be used multiple times within the designated time period. FCSC will receive a 5% cash reward on all purchases made
when the coupon is presented at the time of sale.

Now open 7 days a week! We are pleased to announce that we have added a sno-cone machine and a cotton candy

Concession Stand hours to include weeknights and all day Sunday. Once again a special thank you to Gene and his
family for all the hours and hard work they give to FCSC. If anyone is interested in helping out in the Concession Stand

A Message from the Fox Chase Advisory Council
Are you concerned about your child’s use of alcohol and other drugs? With the alarming number of teenagers
and young adults addicted to drugs in our community, it is our wish to make you better informed of this serious and
immediate concern to the youth in the Fox Chase Community. Whether they hang out at the center or in the neighboring
community, drugs are very much available to them – prescription drugs like percoset, oxycotin, and others.
Drug use and the addiction may be prevented if you are aware and pro active regarding drugs and alcohol. We,
at the center are concerned and want to keep you informed of these dangers. We hope you will talk often to your children,
check out their companions, visit their local hang outs and speak more often about the use of drugs.
Some of the evidence is hidden—you don’t usually see it or smell it – the child or young adult doesn’t come
home late- seems pretty normal but he/she could still be taking drugs. If someone tells you that there are drugs being
used by friends of your children or young people at the Rec. Center, BELIEVE THEM AND TAKE THE PROPER
ACTION.
