Guest speaker from Compass Enfield Hidden Harm Service. Peter a parent that has engaged with Compass Enfield tells his story of his substance misuse issues through his life and how they impacted his life and his children’s life. He spoke about his time in treatment with Compass Enfield Hidden Harm Service. Discussion of previous topics for future forums: Retta Bowen has left and no one can make contact. PLO (Public Law Outline)Bethan Gibbs to bring her new PLO assessment for the meeting to discuss- in August. Events: The Children’s Society are looking for volunteers to speak at an event in London with a focus on substance misuse and families. The events are being facilitated by PHE London Alcohol and Drugs Team with support from the Children’s Society and Adfam. Half the day will focus upon adult family members affected by someone else’s substance misuse and the other half will be about children parent and safeguarding. The events will present an opportunity for services to share and showcase any work they are doing on this agenda and network with colleagues from within their borough, as well as neighbouring ones. They are looking for 3 to 4 speakers (approx. 15 mins each) for each event and aim to run the event 4 times, covering the 4 quadrant areas. At the moment we are looking to run the events in June/July but due to a range of elections this summer, they might be in September/October instead. Actions: Madeline Rudolph to contact Nicky Bradley at Troubled Families to invite her to a future meeting for Pan London. Bethan Gibbs to bring her new PLO assessment to October meeting to discuss with the forum. Madeline Rudolph to bring Public Health strategies outcomes to the next meeting (August). December meeting professionals to bring Hidden Harm assessments for both parents and children to share in the forum. To send resources used within Hidden Harm to Joanna Manning and Caroline Horst to upload to the Children’s Society website.
