Events:
The Children’s Society are looking for
volunteers to speak at an event in
London with a focus on substance
misuse and families. The events are
being facilitated by PHE London Alcohol
and Drugs Team with support from the
Children’s Society and Adfam. Half the
day will focus upon adult family
members affected by someone else’s
substance misuse and the other half will
be about children parent and
safeguarding.
The events will present an opportunity
for services to share and showcase any
work they are doing on this agenda and
network with colleagues from within their
borough, as well as neighbouring ones.
They are looking for 3 to 4 speakers
(approx. 15 mins each) for each event
and aim to run the event 4 times,
covering the 4 quadrant areas. At the
moment we are looking to run the events
in June/July but due to a range of
elections this summer, they might be in
September/October instead.
Actions:
 Madeline Rudolph to contact
Nicky Bradley at Troubled
Families to invite her to a future
meeting for Pan London.
 Bethan Gibbs to bring her new
PLO assessment to October
meeting to discuss with the forum.
 Madeline Rudolph to bring Public
Health strategies outcomes to the
next meeting (August).
 December meeting professionals
to bring Hidden Harm
assessments for both parents and
children to share in the forum.
 To send resources used within
Hidden Harm to Joanna Manning
and Caroline Horst to upload to
the Children’s Society website.
 If interested in the event that PHE
London Drug and Alcohol/The
Children’s Society are running
