Rules and Regulations
Game: Group Pools – 8 balls
The guidelines of the group pools – 8 balls tournament are as stated below:
1. Team Combination
- A team consists of 4 players of without any restriction in gender.
- There will be NO SUBSTITUTES for this event.
- Maximum participating team per firm is 2 teams.
- Firm combination for taking part in the competition is ALLOWED.
2. Dress Code
- Participants are requested to be dressed for their events with a sense of decorum.
3. Equipment
- Personal cues are allowed.
- House cues will be provided if required.
4. Match Formation
- Round-robin basis for below 6 participating teams.
- Group & elimination basis for 6 or more participating teams.
- Team winning will be determined with best of 3 matches at below sequential,
[Participating firm will be required to complete 3 matches during preliminary stage. However, 3 rd match
will not be required followed by 2 winning matches during semi-final and final.]
I) Match 1 - Single
II) Match 2 - Double
III) Match 3 - Single
- Each match above is made up of 3 sets 8-balls game, where all the 3 sets will be played during the
tournament.
- Each player is allowed to enroll for maximum one (1) type of game only
5. Disqualification
- A team consisting of non-registered player or player that is not a permanent staff of the said firm will be
disqualified from the tournament.
- Players failing to report at the venue for their match within 10 minutes of the match started time will be
defaulted lose.
- Players are NOT ALLOWED to switch turns during the course of the tournament.
- For firms that are sending two teams/combining with other firm, kindly note that players are strictly
confined to the registered teams and are not allowed to switch to different teams during the game.
6. Other Matters
- Only players are allowed to at the pools table area during the match. Supporters are advised to stay
behind the pools table area, to facilitate the competition flow.
7. Interpretation Clause
- Any matters arising and not covered in the above rules and regulations will be dealt with by the Organizing
Committee
