Practice Philosophy
Separate C practice from JV/Varsity Practice
– Work c-players through individual periods
Focus on player safety
– Minimize player to player full contact drills and situations
– Emphasize level of contact drills
– Instruct proper techniques
2 Platoon system in season
– Use spring/summer/pre-season to teach everyone both sides
– Separate in season (shorter practice, less injury, increase reps
Practice Philosophy
Practice should focus on competition
– Drills that minimize contact and emphasis competing
Enthusiastic
– Focus should be on doing the little things with exceptional
enthusiasm
Focus on character development
– Start each day with a focus, end each day with a character building
activity
Competition Philosophy
• C-Team: Focus on player and skill development on both sides of
the ball
– Players rotate both sides of the ball
• JV Team: To prepare players both mentally and physically for
varsity level
