• Alabama High School Diploma requires students to earn
FOUR credits in math.
• Of those four credits, students must complete:
– Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, or their equivalent.
Equivalents:
Algebra IA & IB equivalent to Algebra I
• The math course a student begins with determines all math
options to follow.
• Once a student starts this math sequence, he/she cannot
go back & take a lower level math.

Verification Forms
• List of the classes requested in
February/March
• Given out April 21st
• Opportunity at this time to make changes
• If making changes, will be due back no later
than May 2nd
• If no changes, do nothing with form
Schedule Change Request Forms
• Form available from counselors
• Must include parents signature/any teachers signatures
• March-April 18 request change for no fee using this
form
• April 21-May 2 use verification form to request changes
• May 5-June 6 request change but subject to
administrator approval and $10 fee using this form
– Recommended Course Waiver Forms available during this
time
• No requests honored after June 6 without principal
