BUILDING
YOUR BUSINESS
FROM YOUR
DOORSTEP
Editor’s Note
I have a shockingly bad memory. Lists normally adorn most surfaces of
every area I am in contact with, because I simply can’t trust my brain
to retain any sort of information.
The little voice inside my head, however, has exceptional recall. Little
Voice remembers absolutely every time I’ve messed up on something,
embarrassed myself or failed. It’s not just the past that Little Voice is
well acquainted with. She’s also somewhat of a fortune teller. Based on
previous recollections, Little Voice can provide vital advice regarding
my next step. Pearls of wisdom such as ’oh no, you wouldn’t be any
good at that’ and ’don’t even bother trying that, you’ll definitely fail –
remember last time?’
On the whole, I’m pretty good at ignoring Little Voice, although she’s
incredibly insistent. However, she has the benefit of remembering the
quality of past decisions, mistakes that could have been avoided and a
nice warm comfort zone to reside in. I probably wouldn’t mind her so
much if she wasn’t quite so scathing in her critique – like an inner bully
living in your head.
Even the most positive of people have those negative ’voices’ in their
head, ready to chirp up at every available opportunity. Psychologists
have long put them down to being residues of childhood experiences
– a protective warning so we don’t get hurt and make the appropriate
social choices. As we grow, though, so does the voice; and it can
become stronger and more urgent depending on how much attention
you’re willing to give it. The voice, should you let it, can set rigid rules
for living, dictate what outcomes we ’deserve’ in life and stop you
taking any steps for change.
Basically, the little voice is a reflection of everything that has happened
in the past rather than a judgment on what is happening in the here
and now.
6
Of course, knowing all this doesn’t always help us! The little voice,
although often harsh and critical, is also so familiar so it lulls us into
feeling secure in following what it tells us to. We can believe that if we
don’t follow its guidance, we’ll suffer pain or possibly not even survive.
So when should you heed the advice of Little Voice and when should
you ignore it? Well, a general rule of thumb is to use common sense to
battle Little Voice. If Little Voice tells you that putting your hand into
a fire is going to hurt, common sense can usually back that statement
up. If Little Voice tells you that you shouldn’t approach someone in
case you’re rejected, common sense can step in and remind you that
Little Voice isn’t always right and is, essentially, a bit of a wimp really.
Even the most positive, successful and well-adjusted person in the
world will fall victim to Little Voice every now and again. It’s human
nature - and Little Voice did serve a valid purpose whilst we were
growing up and making sense of the world. Just remember, though,
you have the BIGGER voice! Don’t let yourself listen to any potential
damaging voices – be them in your own head or elsewhere! Drown
any negative self-talk out with your own big, constructive, optimistic
and confident voice and you’ll see your life heading in the direction
you want it to.

to build up a pension,
even just for something
to do. However, the reasons that they join
aren’t necessarily the reasons they stay. It’s
the support, the training, the leadership that
you all provide that keep our new starters
motivated to help them build their business
and achieve their goals.
That support and motivation is going to be available
in spades over the course of the coming months, as
the Kleeneze LIVE! tour kicks off. We have a line up
of speakers that bring a wealth of knowledge from
every different level of the business. Our speakers
are from all different backgrounds and have all had
different experiences and journeys with the Kleeneze
business. Everyone, no matter where they are with
the business, can take something from their stories
to enhance their own journeys and get themselves

Sales Plan mover
One young entrepreneur
to watch in 2017
Whilst Frances Farry’s friends were finishing their exams and wondering what path their lives were
destined to take, the 18-year-old already had her sights firmly fixed on creating her own future. Now,
less than one year after starting her Kleeneze business, the youngster has hit Gold Distributor and is
making a name for herself in the Network as one to watch!
We caught up with Frances to find out what it is that inspired her to start her own business and the
secrets of her success so far.
“My parents are self-employed, so I suppose I have
always had that desire to become an entrepreneur. I
have seen them work so hard to build their business and
I knew exactly what was required to become successful
in the business world. Before I joined Kleeneze, I was a
student – home-schooled due to ill health. So everyone
was shocked when I joined Kleeneze before finishing my
exams. People thought I was crazy.
I was a bit wary of joining in the beginning. I
worried about losing money and I didn’t have
enough self-belief to think I would succeed.
Thankfully, my Upline, Sinéad Thompson, was
so bubbly that I knew I could trust her. Once
I started, I never looked back – I was hooked
and I knew I could make it work. I just loved
the idea of having something that I had built
up from scratch all by myself. Being able to
work for myself, having nobody to answer
to and being able to work whenever I wanted was so
important for me. Especially as I’m currently also in
college, so my hours can be limited.
My first few months in Kleeneze were good. I retailed
10% all by myself and began team building. Of course,
like with anything in life, it’s not always smooth sailing.
I was plodding along with the business and never truly
sat down to learn the Sales Plan and this came back to
bite me when my cheques weren’t increasing. I had my
doubts about everything back then, but I used those
obstacles and feeling of disappointment to push myself to
aim higher. I got stuck in and jumped from 15% to 21%
6 TEAMTALK PERIOD 3, 2017
in just one Period and saw my cheque double from the
usual €250 to just over €500.
My parents were skeptical at first, but when the customer
orders and certificates came flying in the door along with
my first cheque for €250, they quickly realized I was out
to prove that I could do it and they began referring to it
as my ’business’ rather than my ’job in my spare time’.
My friends have been really shocked by what I have
achieved. I don’t think they fully realized the
extent of what I was doing. Many of them
thought I was just selling bits and pieces on
Facebook for very little money. It was only
when I went Gold that they realized I was
established and have a large team of people
built up too. Many of them have been asking
more questions now, so you never know, they
could be joining me soon!
When I joined, I really just wanted some pocket money
so that I wouldn’t be asking my parents for it as often.
However, I quickly saw the potential of the business and
started team building. My main flaw was that I didn’t set
goals in the beginning. I plodded along and, although I
was growing, looking back I had my head in the clouds.
I wanted everything the business had to offer – the big
cheques, the recognition, the trips, everything, but I had
no idea what the criteria was for these amazing bonuses!
It was only when Christmas was over that I sat down and
thought long and hard about where I wanted to go with
this business. I spoke with my Uplines, Andy and Helen
Walsh, as well as Allison Landman and Sinéad, and I
Frances with the team
made a goal board. This goal board and my team is what
I thank for my success!
My goals range from simple tasks, such as donating
some money to charity, to huge goals like reaching
Bronze, qualifying for a Destination and getting my
driving license. I tick
everything off and
write the date on it
once I achieve the
goal and have found
that by visualising
them, so many come
true. Something I had
always visualized was
being a speaker at a Kleeneze Showcase. I had my speech
rehearsed and would often say it to myself when bored
(so embarrassing, I know!). However, it totally worked.
When Michael (Khatkar) rang me to congratulate me
on going Gold, he asked me to speak at the Dublin LIVE
event. Coincidence? I think not! I always thought goal
boards were silly before and never understood how they
would work, but now that I have done one, I feel even
sillier for not doing it sooner.
You have to be prepared to work and learn in this
business. I suggest asking as many questions as you can
to get your business up and running and don’t try to
reinvent the wheel. The system works! Just trust it and
you’ll see. I think one of my huge setbacks at the start
was comparing myself to others. I looked at people who
had been in the business for years and earned mega
money and wondered why I wasn’t earning the same!
I had to realise that it took those people time to build up
that income and that I was going to have to be patient
and work hard too.
Kleeneze is often seen as something to do to work
around children or to build up a pension, but I really
don’t see it that way. I have no children and no debt. I
have been lucky - my parents are so good and have been
able to help me financially. Plus, I’m a long way off from
pension age! However, I don’t want to wait until the bills
come rolling in or I find out I’m having a baby to realise
that I need to do something quick! It’s a major flaw here
in Ireland that, as a nation, we are reactive rather than
proactive. We don’t plan for that rainy day. I want to
make the first step to change that. Why wait until I’m
older with children and have debt to find a solution. The
solution is here before the problem even arises! I saw
that when the recession hit Ireland – it put a strain on so
many families. So many of my classmates used to go on
holiday every year and then it all suddenly stopped. I saw
my friends cry, because they couldn’t go on a school trip
when their parents lost their jobs. I never want that for
my children! I want to be able to stay home and mind
them and see those first steps, the first words, pick them
up when they fall. And I want to know that if the roof
comes crumbling down in the morning, that I can fix it.
It’s so important to plan for the future. You never know
what’s around the corner. I’d much rather be sitting on
the beach with my family in 10 years time, regardless of
the state of the country, than to be working three jobs
just to pay the never-ending bills.”

New Gold Distributor
I went Gold in my
spare time
Support worker, Claire Salmon wasn’t looking to do anything else, but whilst browsing Facebook, an
advert to earn extra cash grabbed her attention. Now just one year later, Claire’s hit Gold Distributor
level, building up a team and amassing a great second income.
“I found an advert on one
of my local selling sites one
morning. I wasn’t looking for
anything like this, it just caught
my eye. I was working full time
and extra cash was always
needed, so I enquired and
signed up almost immediately.
I knew of Kleeneze back in the
day before the K Life brand,
so I thought it was a good
household name. I wasn’t
convinced it would work, but thought if I could earn
enough to have a holiday that year that would do!!
My first couple of weeks were slow. It took time to build
up customers, but after about 6 weeks I was really doing
well. My first cheque arrived and it was £115.
My goal now is to increase my monthly income, but
continuing to build my team and my own personal retail,
and to hold Gold for £1,500 bonus.
I now only work part-time, as I am able to thanks to
Kleeneze. I wouldn’t change anything; it’s the best £25 I
spent last year!”
I hit 13% in my first
Period with a team and
then 15%. As my team grew,
I then went to 18% and
then 21%.
I worked online only, because it suited me and fit into my
daily routine between working full time and with other
commitments. Soon I had hit my 10%.
I never really had any goals in the beginning. I was just
taking it one day at a time and every day I would try to
better the day before. I started recruiting and for the first
couple of Periods I stuck to a small team.
I hit 13% in my first Period with a team and then 15%.
As my team grew, I then went to 18% and then 21%.
At this point I wanted to reach the Gold Distributor level
so badly. I was only about £900 away from hitting it!
So, in the last Period of 2016, I decided I wasn’t taking
anything less than Gold. I doubled my own retail and I
also continued to build my team.

They find out that everyone is the same and that if one

Our Kleeneze story
A mother daughter business
that works
For 28-year-old Gemma Holmes and her mum, Linda Holmes, Kleeneze has given them the opportunity
to earn extra money whilst spending quality time together. Gemma told Team Talk the story of the
mother-daughter team that’s quickly been seeing great results.
“I have been doing Kleeneze for almost 6 months now. I
work part-time in a primary school and wanted to earn an
extra income to help support my ten-year-old son, and also
to save some money for mine and my partner’s wedding.
I loved the fact I could work this business around my son’s
school hours and also be able to work from home.
A couple of months ago, I sponsored
my mum, Linda, into my team. She
wanted to start saving some money
for luxuries. She enjoys going away
on holidays with her partner, so the
extra income is great for treats! She
also has a dream of helping her four
daughters to get their own homes.
That’s a big goal of hers.
My mum and I have a very close
relationship. We speak every day
regarding our businesses and help
and support each other, sharing tips.
Even though I sponsored her, she
tends to give the best advice!
In the short time we’ve been in
Kleeneze, we’ve both already seen
successes. Both of us achieved our
10% levels in our first months.
Whilst I achieved the 60 Day
Welcome Rewards challenge in just 34 days (with over
£1,200 of orders), my mum also qualified. She also
managed to sponsor 3 people in her first two months, all
whilst on her holiday in Fuerteventura! Now I’ve climbed
up to hit my 13% bonus level too.
We’re really looking forward to the future, working closely
together to support and train each other in order to achieve
our dreams and goals in life. We believe we can do it and
will not stop until we have!”

Kleeneze health special
Healthy, wealthy
and wise!
Even though we all know we should be making healthy decisions and doing everything we can to
put our health first, a lot of the time life seems to get in the way of our best intentions.
We know that investing in ourselves – in our health in particular – is critical for our mental, physical
and emotional wellbeing. If we don’t take care of ourselves, we don’t just see a negative impact on
ourselves, but on those around us too.
We only have one life, so it’s time to make yourself the priority of that life! Stop neglecting your
needs and start putting yourself first.
“But I have to work and take the kids to school and do the housework and pay the bills and see my
family and….” we hear you cry. So why not pick a lifestyle that encompasses it all? A lifestyle in
which you can put yourself first without sacrificing anything else?
14 TEAMTALK PERIOD 3, 2017
Take control of your life
It probably comes as no surprise that working a Kleeneze business can be great for your physical
health. After all, you’re out there in the fresh air, walking about, getting your 10,000 steps in!
What you might not know is that Kleeneze is also credited with helping people in many other
ways. From feeling a sense of achievement to discovering the world of personal development,
this business can be as important for your physical health as your mental health!
“Pre-Kleeneze, I pretty much just got in from work, ate
some tea and scrolled on Facebook until I was knackered
and went to bed. My son is 16, so hardly ever home
and my partner is in the army, so is also away a lot of
the time, which leaves me at home alone. It was pretty
boring and miserable really! Now, thanks to Kleeneze,
I’ve got hundreds of new friends on Facebook and
I’m out three or four times a week delivering stuff to
people – some of whom I haven’t seen in years and
some complete strangers who have become new
regulars and friends too. I’m never in and I love it!
I’m a new woman!”
Gemma Walsh, Silver Distributor
“This business has changed my life so much already! I’ve
only been in the business since August but am so happy
that I joined. I am more social that I was before. I was
literally going to work and coming home and not doing
anything but watching tv. Now I spend more time with
my partner and daughter as we all catalogue together. I
also have made some incredible friends who I spend time
catching up with. I am mentally stronger as I have the
motivation to push myself and do the little things that
can make a big difference to our business and our lives.”
Chantelle Webb, Silver Distributor
“Kleeneze is an absolute gem. I joined in September right
when my pregnancy had me so sick that I had no option
but to take my maternity leave, so I could rest and spend
the hours your job doesn’t allow you to spend in bed. I
could have easily slipped into being an unsociable mess,
however, building my team and interacting with my
wider team kept me so focused that my physical health
didn’t hinder me quite as much as it was doing previously
joining. Kleeneze is great for your mind, your health and
your pocket.”
Lisa Leacy, Silver Distributor
“Kleeneze has definitely made me healthier mentally.
I now have a much more positive outlook on life, plus
I have learned so many new skills due to the personal
development that I was introduced to when I joined this
terrific company.”
Seamus Houghton, Bronze Executive
“When I came to Kleeneze a year ago I had experienced
8 losses to death in 2 years, including my dad and
closest uncle. I’d had nervous exhaustion and ended
up losing my job on the brink of a nervous breakdown
with depression and anxiety last June. My confidence
has grown and is growing, my personal development is
growing and developing. When I deliver the catalogues
it gets me out of the house, into the fresh air, meeting
people, making friends, exercising and lifts my mood a
lot. Going to the workshops, showcases and attending
webinars, training, etc., are all building confidence to
do this business and I’ve made some lovely friends. The
Kleeneze ethos makes for a wonderful atmosphere and
has removed fears in social situations. It has also given
me time to do something I have wanted to do for years
and that is to write books. I absolutely love it.”
Angela White, Distributor
“Before I joined I was stressed with work and not seeing
my family. So much so that I developed a skin condition.
Now that I have built my business I have left my full
time job and no longer suffer like I previously was. Also
mentally I know exactly where I am heading and I am
a different person altogether. It’s even rubbing off on
our children as my eldest is doing fantastic at school, my
son is improving with his skills everyday too. Power of
association happening at home.”

I lost 70 pounds and
gained so much more
20-year-old Chloe Langsdale had always struggled with her weight and had resigned herself to the fact
that things would always be the same. However, when she started a part-time Kleeneze business, Chloe
found that her whole life was about to change.
“In my first month, I earned
an incredible £550 all on my

used to love helping deliver catalogues, earning a bit of
pocket money on the side. When my mum suggested that
I started my own Kleeneze business, I wasn’t too sure.
I didn’t think it would be right for me. However, with a
30-day-money-back guarantee, I knew I wouldn’t
lose anything.
“I joined Kleeneze just over a year-and-a-half ago. I
started because I was in a very difficult position. I was in
my second year of college, working at a call centre on a
zero-hours contract, riddled with terrible anxiety and was
a 15-stone wreck with no self-confidence.
My weight has always been my biggest issue. I have
always said to myself that I would forever be big.
I thought that there was no point in changing my
appearance, because if I was meant to be thin, it
would’ve happened by then. I was so wrong! It was such
a poor attitude to have, as I had lost sight of what was
important. I ignored the fact that it could be my chance to
grow and change as a person.
My parents, Andy and Jane Connor, have been a part of
Kleeneze for over 10 years and during school holidays I
16 TEAMTALK PERIOD 3, 2017
I joined the incredible G-Force team and I still, to this day,
get outstanding support. Not just from Debbie Gee, but
from all of our wonderful team members.
In my first month, I focused solely on cataloguing and
earned an incredible £550 all on my own. I also dropped
over half a stone purely from all the exercise I was doing!
After just a few months of working the business, I decided
to hand in my notice to the call centre and pursue my
Kleeneze career full-time.
I have been a part of Kleeneze for just over 18 months
and in that time I have managed to lose 5 stone. The
support I have had, not just from G-Force, but from my
partner, friends and family has been overwhelming.
Throughout my time with Kleeneze, my main goal has
been to support myself and continue to pursue my love of

theatre. Kleeneze has given me the opportunity to build
my theatre portfolio due to the flexibility of the business.
Although I also aim to build my savings to £20,000 to pay
for my studies at drama school, I live to enjoy each and
every moment I have in building my business, seeing my
savings increase and also having the ability to spend more
time with the most important people in my life.
My goals from now are simple. I will continue to grow.
Whether that is to grow myself as a person, my business,
my relationships; I know that I will persist to push myself.
The main thing that I learned from my experience was
to detach myself from my main goal. I wanted to lose
weight but going to the gym was uninspiring and felt like
more of a chore. Delivering catalogues, however, was
great because I was earning money whilst doing it! I was
so preoccupied with watching my income increase that
I forgot about my weight loss. Before I knew it I was 5
stone lighter!

in a single sachet!
I still have £20,000 to save but by detaching myself from
that end goal, I can see now that I have more time to
spend with my partner, my fellow actors, even my team
as I am less hung up on achieving that end goal.
Instead of wanting that money this very second, I have
come to terms with the fact that it will take time to save.
In the meantime, I can make the most of my 20s
with those who make my life as incredible as this
opportunity has.”

My Kleeneze story
Kleeneze helped me to
overcome my fears
They say that laughter is the best medicine but for 32-year-old Amy Thorpe, it’s actually running
her own business that has changed everything. Battling a number of health issues, the motherof-three has turned her life around and found herself a top team seller!
“My name is Amy and
I joined Kleeneze on
27 January 2017. I’m a
stay-at-home mum and
carer for my husband.
When I came across an
advert on a sale site on
Facebook, I asked for
more information and
Rachel Kellett got in
touch. I did want the
extra money, but the
chance to get out there and speak with different people
really made me want to join too.
You see, for the past 13 years, I have suffered with
depression, anxiety, panics and low self-esteem. On top
of this, I also have a slipped disc in my back, which makes
moving painful. When I first received my catalogues, I sat
with them for a week before I managed to put them out.
I finally got them out on the Tuesday and followed up
with more on Wednesday.
On the Thursday, I went to collect the first 100 books
and had no orders. Later that day, I went to collect some
more and got a £11 order. I had a few stragglers out
there and they brought in another £29.50 order. Then
I decided to target a different area. I posted out 150
books and when I went to collect them, I was told that
there was already a distributor there. I was starting to
feel deflated at this point, but I carried on and got a £30
order. That inspired me to carry on and I posted another
100 books.
By the end of the day, I had 12 new customers and
orders totaling £119.50. I was so glad that I carried on,
despite being in pain with my back and feeling a bit
deflated – I overcame it to end up with amazing sales. I
went on to make it into the top 20 sellers for the whole
team. It just goes to show that if you overcome your

fears and get out there you will achieve what you have
set out to do! I must be honest, Rachel said to me: ’don’t
worry, it will be fine just keep going’ and at this point
I really was not holding out much hope, but it has all
turned out so well.
My advice is get out there and go for it and if someone
says to you don’t worry, it will be fine - listen to them!
Our Uplines have all been where we are now, so they
know what they are doing and they are saying these
things to us because they know as they have been there
and had to go through it!
Like so many, yes, I do this business for the extra money,
but it’s helped so much to get me out there, speaking
with different people. It’s had a massive effect on helping
me with my anxiety and depression. I have three children
too, so to have something like this that is flexible –
working around school hours – is perfect.
Now, I want to start building a team and would love to
see myself moving up the Sales Plan.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and good
luck to you all.”

My Kleeneze story
New starter success
Romford-based Paul Chapman needed a little extra cash to pay off some debts, so when he chanced
upon Kleeneze, it seemed ideal. Now, just six months later, he has even bigger and better plans for his
business and is already putting them into action.
“I was looking for ways to make
some extra cash to reduce some
of our debts when my wife
came across an advert from
Stuart Heard on a selling site on
Facebook. I decided to give
it a try.
Six months later and I can
honestly say it has been
absolutely brilliant and very
fulfilling. In my first three
months, I achieved £1,000
retail and hit the 10% bonus
level each and every month. I
started online on 21 September
2016, achieved my Welcome
Rewards pretty much straight
away, which meant I earned
catalogues and could start doing both retailing methods.
My original goal was to make that extra bit of cash, but
that has totally changed since I joined! In January, I started
goal setting. I wanted to hit 13% by 9th February – I
achieved it on 6th February. I had it down to hit 15% by
4th May and hit that on 2nd March. I wanted to be at
18% by 24 August and already had that achieved by 8th
March. More goals were to have a £500 cheque by 4th
May and be at 21% by 16 November. I now have it down
to settle one credit card and one loan by 14th December.
That’s 4 goals achieved already – 3 of them in one Period!
I come across the same obstacles as everyone does in this
business. You get bad pickups and there are some ignorant
comments on Facebook, but I just brush them off and carry
on. Reading Personal Development books has really helped
my confidence to grow as well as my desire and motivation
22 TEAMTALK PERIOD 3, 2017
to progress in this business. I really see myself going all the
way to the top of the Sales Plan now.
The New Year Showcase on 7th January 2017 was my
’light bulb moment’ when I realised that the residual
income was in the sponsoring side of the business. I
recruited my first team member on 14th January 2017 and
my most recent 20th member on 13th March. Now it’s
onwards and upwards. I want to continue sponsoring in
order to achieve my 21% VP and then Gold and then to
maintain Gold whilst working on moving up the Sales Plan.
The knowledge and satisfaction that I’m doing something
constructive to improve my financial situation and those of
others keeps me going. Plus, at the same time, I get to offer
my local community a service and forge new and lasting
relationships with my customers.
I am currently 44 years old and plan to retire from my
corporate job as a Project Manager by the time I’m 50. I
plan to increase and work my business year on year until I
die! Knowing what I know now, I wish that I’d encountered
this opportunity sooner, but this is all about being at the
right time in your life and now is that time!”
“Reading Personal
Development books has really
helped my confidence to grow as
well as my desire and motivation
to progress in this business.”
