What is CompTIA CertMaster?
CompTIA CertMaster is a revolutionary new way to learn and prepare for your CompTIA
certification exams.
Incorporating the latest developments in brain science and cognitive psychology,
CertMaster helps you
 Master information quickly
 Recall it when it counts
 and Test with confidence
This tutorial video will help you become more familiar with CompTIA CertMaster.
When you login to CertMaster, you’ll see a list of your courses.
Select your chosen course of study, and click “Learn” to begin.
The learning method in CertMaster is based on the latest developments in brain science
and cognitive psychology.
CertMaster is unlike other online study tools.
It’s e-learning, but presented through a scientifically-based question / answer process.
While this may seem unconventional, research has shown that pre-testing prior to
studying is a much more effective way to learn.
It may look like a practice test, but it’s so much more.
In CertMaster you’re presented sets of questions with a unique answering system that
drives your customized learning experience.
With each answer, you must also indicate your level of Confidence.
You demonstrate your complete confidence by selecting just one answer.
If you’re only partially sure, select two answers.
If you don’t know an answer, indicate that as well.
In CertMaster, it’s okay to admit you don’t know.
It actually speeds the learning process by highlighting knowledge gaps.
Once you’ve answered, and clicked “Submit”, you’ll receive immediate feedback.
Don’t worry if you get the wrong answer…that’s how you learn.
Research has shown that being asked questions on new material – without getting the
correct answer immediately – promotes hyperlearning.
At the end of each question set, you’ll see your summary results.
From here, you can review correct answers and explanations.
During review, CertMaster shows the correct answer and a full explanation as to why
that answer is correct.
You can also expand your understanding of a concept with additional learning.
At any time during the course, you can monitor your progress by clicking on the
progress indicator.
Learning in CertMaster is also Adaptive.
As you progress, learning content will be uniquely tailored to your needs.
For example, images may no longer appear for questions you’ve previously seen.
The CertMaster learning algorithm is driven by your unique combination of responses
and confidence.
You’ll progress through an adaptive, repetitive process of questions-answers-questions,
until you achieve complete mastery.
The repetition is intentional – as it speeds retention and mastery.
Once you’ve answered a question confidently correct twice, you won’t see that question
again.
When you reach mastery of the course material, you’ll see the Certificate link on the
dashboard.
You can view and print your Certificate of Completion.
The certificate also includes the number of Continuing Education hours you’ve earned.
If you’re part of the CompTIA Continuing Education program, you can submit this
certificate to receive continuing education credit.
After you complete a course, CertMaster also lets you Refresh your knowledge.
While refreshing your knowledge, you’ll have the opportunity to answer each question
one time.
In addition, CertMaster is available on mobile devices.
Your learning progress will be seamless as you switch between devices.
