How to download and save an inter-library loan using DRM-Lite Requirements prior to download: You must have a British Library On Demand account – click here to learn how to register Adobe Reader version 10 or above Internet connection To download and save an inter-library loan Step 1 When your inter-library loan request is available you will receive an e-mail. Click on the link in the e-mail to go to the download page Document1 Step 2 Enter either your British Library On Demand username or the e-mail address registered to your British Library On Demand account then click on ‘Download your document’ Step 3 To download your document (not save) click on Open when prompted To download and save your document click on the arrow next to ‘Save’ then select ‘Save As’. Choose the location to save the file then click on Save Note: - You may access the document via the e-mail link for 30 days. - If you download and save a copy you may access the document for 3 years - You are permitted to make a single printed copy of the document but you may not make any further copies Document1 Step 4 Enter your British Library On Demand username and password then click on OK You should now be able to view and print your document Having problems? You have 30 days from the date the original e-mail was sent from the British Library. You will need to re-order the inter-library loan if this is the case Error message ‘There was a problem accessing your document, please try again later’ – Does your username have the ‘@’ symbol in it? If it does please contact the British Library Customer Services team For further assistance contact the Library on 0121 476 1181 ext. 1208 or [email protected] Document1 Registering a British Library account Step 1 Follow this link to the British Library On Demand registration page Click on Register to create an account Step 2 Complete the registration form, remember to agree to the British Library Terms and Conditions then click ‘Register’ Top tip: - For ease of use, you can register using your Newman username & password Note: - Usernames containing the ‘@’ symbol can cause documents to fail to open. If you have created an account with a username containing the ‘@’ symbol, contact British Library Customer Services team for advice Document1 Step 3 You will receive a registration e-mail with a link to activate your account; click on the link to complete the registration process It can take up to five minutes for the British Library records to be updated with a new registration so please retry the download if your first attempt fails Document1
