Position Purpose
To facilitate the promotions, organisation and development of
netball, in conjunction with key stakeholders, in the ACT.
ORGANISATIONAL OVERVIEW
Netball ACT is the governing body for Netball in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
Currently there are five Districts affiliated with Netball ACT: Arawang, Belconnen, Canberra,
South Canberra and Tuggeranong
Netball ACT is responsible for developing and managing netball in the ACT, providing
participation opportunities for athletes, coaches, umpires, officials and administrators as
well as pathways from grassroots to high performance.
Netball ACT manages the ACT Netball Centre at Southwell Park, Lyneham. The facility is
home to the Netball ACT office as well as four indoor netball courts, change room, meeting
rooms, canteen, crèche and store rooms.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Participation Development
 Coordinate and deliver programs that support increased participation in netball
including, but not limited to:
o NetSetGO participation programs and clinics
o School Development Program
o School Holiday Clinics
 Coordinator and deliver inclusion programs that support Netball ACT’s strategic
goals and KPIs’ including, but not limited to:
o One Netball clinics and events
o Indigenous Inclusion Program
o Disability Inclusion Program
o CaLD Inclusion Program

Coordinate and deliver Netball ACT’s coach development program with a focus on
Foundation and Development Accreditation courses and District coach development
programs
Recruit, train and manage staff in the delivery of Netball ACT’s participation
programs
Stakeholder Manager
 Maintain and foster a relationship with Netball Australia on all sport development
related issues including, but not limited to:
o Attending relevant meetings, workshops and training programs hosted by
Netball Australia
o Providing feedback and information to project briefs and reports
o Submit agreed report and funding acquittals
 Liaise with District representatives to ensure the effective delivery of Netball ACT’s
participation programs by:
o Maintaining communication with Districts to understand their needs
o Regularly visiting Districts to provide ongoing training and support
o Coordinator cross District promotions and activities
o Training Districts in the use of the NetSetGO MyNetball component
 Identify and foster relationships with organisations and community groups that
support, or have the potential to support the growth of netball in the ACT
 Represent Netball ACT at functions, workshops and forums conducted in the ACT by
external stakeholders, partners and peers
Administration
 Provided input into and manage the logistic requirements of delivering Netball ACT’s
participation programs including budgets, operational plans, promotions and
equipment
 Contribute to the delivery of Netball ACT’s communications strategy including, but
not limited to:
o Netball ACT Newsletters
o Relevant social media content
o Operational and Annual Reports
 Any tasks that are deemed reasonable and appropriate in order to achieve the
strategic outcomes of Netball ACT

Achieve the program targets outlined in Netball ACT’s Participation Funding
Agreement
Grow Netball ACT’s resources in the delivery of participation programs including, but
not limited course Presenters/Assessors and Community Coaches
Assist with positioning Netball ACT to lead National and State based initiatives that
support the growth of the sport in the Territory
Meet all reporting requirements for all internal and external stakeholder

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
 Previous experience in the development and delivery of grass roots participation
programs
 Strong administration skills including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office
suite of applications
 Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills
 Understanding of the structure of Netball in the ACT
 Current or working towards the Netball Australia Development Coaching
Accreditation
 Working with Vulnerable People Registration
Desirable


Territory qualification in Sports Management, Sports Coaching or a relevant field
Experience in marketing and communications
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Remuneration
The position’s remuneration is as per stated in the position scope. A review of the
remuneration may be considered at the time of the employees performance review if
requested by the General Manager or incumbent.
Hours of Work
As a permanent full time position, the role of Game Development Coordinator will be for 38
hours per week. The nature of the position requires work outside the ordinary working
hours and some domestic travel. For work that extends beyond this job description and
requires more than the allocated hours, time in lieu will be provided with the General
Managers approval and within Netball ACT’s Time in Lieu Policy.
