Overview
Thin and zero client devices are gaining momentum in the healthcare market
for several reasons, including their lower costs, easier maintenance and
reduced energy consumption. Thin and zero client devices also offer security
advantages, having no onboard operating system and no ability to store data
locally.
To access and roam their virtual desktops as they move about their facilities,

Technology and Capabilities
Imprivata OneSign ProveID™ APIs enable partners to integrate their offerings
with Imprivata OneSign to create a seamless solution that eliminates the need
for customers to create their own scripted solutions for virtual environments.
This out of the box solution is developed in conjunction with Imprivata’s
device and chip maker partners, ensuring a solution that is tested and
supported by your key infrastructure and endpoint device vendors.
This collaborative integration enables Imprivata OneSign to support a range
of application and desktop roaming workflows across Citrix XenApp,
XenDesktop and VMware Horizon View. OneSign also supports multiple
authentication devices and secondary authentication workflows.
Another benefit of this integration is simplified endpoint management for
hospital IT. The OneSign solution includes an endpoint agent that is selfupdating. As new thin and zero client devices are deployed, clients enabled
with ProveID Embedded will automatically download the latest OneSign agent
from the OneSign appliance. As an update becomes available, IT simply
installs the new agent once on the OneSign appliance. Clients will periodically
check for updates, and download and install them while the device is not
being used. There is no reboot required, no interruption for the user, and
minimal time required of IT.
The ‘behind the scenes’ capabilities of OneSign ProveID APIs are essentially
transparent to the clinical staff. What they do notice and appreciate is the
