Getting Started with LionPATH LionPATH is the Penn State’s student information system that allows you to accept financial aid, enroll in classes, pay your bill, and much more. Accessing LionPATH Access to LionPATH is provided through the LionPATH Launch page. 1. Navigate to the LionPATH Launch page by entering launch.lionpath.psu.edu into the browser address bar. 2. Select the tab that corresponds with your academic level. 3. Click the Log in to LionPATH button. 4. Log into WebAccess with your Penn State User ID and Password. LionPATH Interface Global Header LionPATH's student interface groups your information into specific categories accessible by clicking on tabs located on the global header. Figure 1: LionPATH global header Above the page tabs, you will find links for accessing the original LionPATH interface, viewing help tutorials, and logging out of the system. Hamburger Menu In addition to navigating LionPATH using the page tabs, you can also use the three-line menu icon, known as the hamburger menu. Clicking the hamburger menu will display a multi-tier drop-down menu. At the top tier, you will see the specific categories. Notice, these titles match the tab names on the global header. Clicking on the top tier of the menu will display a list of topics related to your selection. For example, clicking on Academics will display items pertaining to your scholarly activities at Penn State. Note: All items in the hamburger menu can also be accessed by using the page tabs. Home Page Each page contains multiple boxes. The first box on the Home page will display: holds on your account, items you need to complete, and important messages. A number will appear next to each tab to indicate how many items are in each area. Clicking on a tab will display the corresponding information. Figure 2: The Home page Holds, To Do List, and Communications box Holds The Holds box displays holds (financial, academic, etc.) that have been placed on your record to restrict services. If holds are displayed, click on the hold to get additional information. Clicking the VIEW HOLDS button will provide further details. The details of the hold contain the start and end terms/dates of the hold. Clicking on the name of the Hold Item will provide you with the appropriate contact information. To Do List The To Do List contains items that you need to complete. Be sure to check this area frequently, as items placed here could impact your ability to complete other tasks. Note: The To Do List box will also be used to notify you of the receipt of FAFSA information. Prior to each semester’s enrollment, a Pre-Registration Activity Guide will appear in your To Do List. It contains the Financial Responsibility Agreement and an Emergency Contact section, both of which are required to be completed each semester. Completing this activity guide will release the Financial Responsibility hold and allow you to enroll during your enrollment window. To complete your to do items, click the COMPLETE TASK button. When you click on the COMPLETE TASK button, the details of the to do item will display showing the due date and status. Additional Home Page Boxes Additional boxes on the Home page display your class schedule, grades, and enrollment dates. At the bottom of each box is a link to details of that area. Some elements in the boxes can be expanded. For example, when you click on a semester in the My Grades box, the grades you received for that semester will be displayed. Quick Links The Quick Links box appears on the Home, Academics, Finances, and My Information pages. This box contains links to frequently used LionPATH topics as well as links to useful sites and information not located within LionPATH. Figure 3: Quick Links box Milestones The Milestones box is used to indicate non-course requirements such as certifications. Academics Page Clicking on the Academics tab on the global header will take you to the Academics page. This page contains information related to enrollment and scheduling. Your class schedule, grades, exam schedule, and advisor information will be displayed in boxes on the screen. As mentioned earlier, the Quick Links box appears on the Home, Academics, Finances, and My Information pages. The links are related to the page you are on; therefore, each page will have different links. Academics Folder Box The Academics, Finance, and My Information pages each contain a box that provides navigational access to items not found directly on the page. This box is organized using a folder structure. Clicking on a folder will display a list of topics related to the folder. Figure 4: Academics Folder box Note: The folders and the hamburger menu contain the same structure. Finances Page The Finances page contains information related to your account balance and financial aid. Figure 5: Finances page My Account Box The My Account box contains links for viewing tuition due dates and accessing Penn State's Payment Gateway. Awards Box The Awards box provides the ability to view, accept, and decline financial aid. Note: Selecting the View Financial Aid quick link, will allow you to view your estimated cost of attendance, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and all other financial aid options. My Information Page The My Information page contains your personal and demographic information. Figure 6: My Information Page Personal Information Box The Personal Information box displays your name, address, phone, and email address. Clicking on the pencil icon, to the right of each item, will allow you to edit your information.
