Understanding Location and Proximity Beacons
• A beacon can be configured as:
1. Location beacon: For blue dot way finding
2. Proximity beacon: For push notification purposes

Beacon Use Cases
Use Case #1: Blue Dot Way Finding
• No pairing required between mobile device and Aruba beacon
• Mobile device receives signal from beacon
• The distance between mobile device and beacon is calculated based on received
signal strength
• Mobile device does location calculation based on triangulation
• Access to Meridian to download maps and beacon location
