Equal Playing Time and Game Guidelines during Playoffs
Girls’ Atom Division during Playoffs
2012 Season
Equal Playing Time
The spirit of the league is to provide equal playing time for everyone.
Penalties, injuries etc all make it tricky to juggle lines but remember the spirit of equal
playing time and juggle your lines accordingly.
The below guidelines apply to Playoff Round Robin Games
1. In the event the opposition pulls their goalie before the last 2 minutes of the game
you can change ONE of your players on the pad in response.
2. You cannot send out a “power line” at any time.
3. Teams are allowed one timeout per game of 1 minute duration
4. The three goal limit remains in effect. If a player has scored three goals in the game and
scores again, the goal does not count, the play is whistled dead, and a face off will occur in the
nearest neutral zone circle
5. All games (other than the consolation final or championship game) may end in a tie
The below guidelines apply to Final Consolation and Championship Games Only
1. If the game ends in a tie a 5 minute sudden death overtime period will be played. The
first 3 minutes will be running time and the final 2 stop time.
2. If the game goes into overtime the tree-goal limit is no longer in effect. A player who has
already scored three goals in a game is permitted to score in overtime.
3. If the overtime period does not produce a goal, we will move to a five person shootout
(five shooters per team).
4. If the five person shootout ends in a tie we will move to a one to one shoot out
Thank you and good luck in the playoffs.
