DID YOU KNOW….?
Reflecting on August:
We started our classes on August 3rd and welcomed
many new students. We launched our new online
sign-up and payment program. Feedback is
welcomed! Please remember to pick up a copy of
our “Important Dates” flyer.
September:

Many new things are happening around the studio
and in Richmond Hill! Life Moves Dance Studio has
many big plans for the future! While you are reading
this newsletter, workers are busy putting in the
foundation for a bigger, better, and more beautiful
studio. Here is a picture of the construction site! The
new studio will be located on HWY 144, 11260 Ford
Avenue - just down the street! We are growing more
excited as we wait for the finishing of the NEW Life
Moves Dance Studio!

MORE EXCITING
NEWS
WELCOME!
We would like to take this time to officially
introduce our newest office staff: Kayla Mace and
Jessica Dawkins. We would also like to welcome
back Kerstin Burt and Graille Merritt. Also, new to
our teaching staff is Mrs. Lisa Blaun. She is teaching
Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and Jazz. Mrs. Lisa comes to
us from Orlando, FL, and is married to SSgt. Matthew
Wood. Mrs. Lisa has been working with the LMDS
Competition Team since July. We would also like to
welcome Mrs. Rebecca Bigler, who is teaching
musical theater classes this year, as well as assisting
Mrs. Aimee Harris with the acrobatics class.
LMDS would also like to congratulate Mr.
Christian Jiminez on receiving a full-time job
opportunity. We are so proud of him and all of his
achievements! Thank you for your hard work with
the students at LMDS and the many people you will
continue to inspire in the future.

Columbia City Ballet announces auditions for
Nutcracker 2013.
Audition FEE: $15.00

2:00-3:00 pm Male & Female Dancers (4 – 6 years)
3:00-4:00 pm Male & Female Dancers (7-10 years)
4:00 -6:00 pm Male & Female Dancers (11 years & up)
Bring pointe shoes for those on pointe over 2 years.
CPR/First Aid/Babysitting Courses Coming Soon!
LMDS is hosting the American Red Cross to teach a
CPR/First Aid/Babysitting certification class. It’s
mandatory for staff members, but everyone is invited
to participate.
CPR/First Aid courses will be held on:
Saturday, September 21, 2013, 4-8 pm
Saturday, September 28, 2013, 4-8 pm
- $15 course fee
- Mandatory in order to take the
Babysitting course
Babysitting Course will be held on:
Saturday, October 26, 2013, 4-8 pm
- $60 course fee per person (includes $15
for CPR/First Aid certification)
- Includes a backpack of babysitting
goodies!

LMDS held its first workshop on August 18th
and was a great success! A huge THANK YOU
to the guest instructors - Nicole Warren,
Brittany Ortner, Menem Morales - and our
own, Lisa Blaun! Our next workshop will be
held on November 3, 2013 at 1:00 pm. For
