A tiny loan of microfinance can play the vital role to make women entrepreneur. Jamuna Shakya is a dedicated client of the Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bikash Bank Limited. She lives in Sainamaina -8, Coloney,Rupandehi. Jamuna Shakya had the initiative to realise that she needed to begin her own business in order to support herself and her Husband, she seriously lacked the capital that was required to grow establish business and ensure it remained profitable. When she get involved with Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bikash Bank Limited then she received Rs.40, 000 as her first loan which she invested the amount i.e. Rs 40,000 into textile business and with the help of initial investment and subsequent loan, Jamuna’s business grew and within the period of 4 year she had established her business as one of the established business in that area. In initial period she meet with a number of challenges when she started her business, people laughed at her thinking how she could do with small capital. Her husband has been doing pawn shop of fruits since many years and when she was remains only as housewife, it was difficult to meet their needs, 5 people financially depending upon her husband so she realized that she needed to support her husband financially. Jamuna has used the profit from her whilst the success of Jamuna’s business has made an impact upon her immediate circle. It has also had wider ramifications for the community. As the business has grown, Jamuna has had to take on extra help and now employs one other person within the business. So what do others in Jamuna’s community think about her decision to become business woman? Jamuna says ‘people are now admiring me that I made a wise decision rather than to stay at home waiting for some handouts’ by remaining as housewife. She has even become a source of inspiration to many women around her, and states that her progress ‘acts as an encouragement that it is possible that a tiny loan of microfinance can play vital role for making women entrepreneur.
