Overview
 The history of Sathon district was dated back to the
period of King Rama VI, it was then called Amphur
Baan Tawai under Prapradaeng administration.
 Amphur Baan Tawai was shifted to be under Phra
Nakorn province administration and was renamed
Amphur Yannawa.
 9 November 1989, it was divided from Yannawa
District to be Yannawa, Bang Khor Laem and Sathon
District.
Sathon administrative area
 The responsibility of Sathon district administration
covers the total area of 9.326 sq.km., divided into 3
sub-districts: Yannawa, Thung Wat Don and Thung
Mahamek.
 The territory in the area was low plain, suitable for
cultivation.
 At present, all previous plantations and orchards have
been transformed into crowed communities, business
centre where most of community members are traders,
labours and workers.
District boundaries
 The north: Sathon canal marking the boundary line
with Bangrak district.
 The south: Chan road, Sathupradit road and Soi Wat
Phai Ngern marking the boundary line with Yannawa
district.
 The east: Rama IV road and Chua Plerng road marking
the boundary line with Pathumwan district.
 The west: The Chao Phraya River marking the
boundary line.
