HEAD COACH OPPORTUNITY TITLE: LOCATION: REPORTING TO: WOMEN’S SOCCER HEAD COACH Kingston Campus Manager, Athletics & Student Life POSITION SUMMARY: The Women’s Soccer Head Coach is responsible for preparing Vikings student-athletes for successful competition within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) outdoor soccer and indoor soccer programs. This position reports to the Manager of Athletics & Student Life and receives functional guidance from the Athletics & Student Life Officers and Sports Information Officer. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement program plans (daily practice plans and annual plan) for the technical, tactical, and physical preparation of the team and athletes for success in OCAA outdoor and indoor soccer competition; Identify and recruit quality prospective student-athletes, considering academic success as well as athletic excellence; Support and mentor the student-athlete’s commitment to academic standing, athletic excellence, leadership, and responsible conduct; Maintain effective communication and administrative systems amongst coaches, players, and athletic staff; Positive promotion of the program to alumni and community; Support and act in accordance to the college and department strategic direction, core values and initiatives as they relate to student-athlete support, general promotions, budget management, appropriate administrative responsibilities, and community/alumni relations; and Adherence and compliance with St. Lawrence College, OCAA and Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) policies and procedures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must have demonstrated a previous high level of leadership and successful coaching performance 3 years coaching soccer at a competitive level, preferably in a post-secondary environment NCCP soccer certification (or willingness to work towards this) Ability to provide holistic leadership to student-athletes Proven good relationships with high school and competitive club coaches for recruitment purposes Excellent communication skills, motivational abilities, sound administrative skills, commitment to fair play Current certification in First Aid and CPR Must provide a clear police background check Must be eligible to work in Canada This is a limited term contract opportunity which requires travel, physical activity, and evening, weekend, and periodic weekday daytime hours depending on the competition schedule.
