Morioka Zoo &
Amusement Park

Morioka Zoo is the biggest zoo in
northern Japan. While you're there,

Children's Land offers a little something for
everyone in your family. Kids will have fun
riding the small rollercoasters, carousel, and
other rides. Each ride requires tickets, which
can be purchased at the ticket vendor stand
for ¥100 - 300. After visiting the petting zoo
and riding all the rides, have a picnic lunch at
one of the numerous picnic tables. Be sure to

Kodomo no Mori, or Children's Forest,
is located in Iwate near Okunakayama
Ski Resort, and combines the fun of
play with learning. There are indoor
and outdoor activities, so any time of

If you have the need for speed, plan a trip to Moya
Hills, a go karting race track. During the winter
months, Moya Hills is known for their skiing, and in
the summer they open Thunder Hills, the race track.
There are two courses, the Grand Prix Course,
which is great for beginners, and the Flower
Course, an excellent choice for older children and
intermediate drivers. Tickets for each race can be
purchased for anyone over the age of four.
Asamushi Aquarium

Located in Aomori City, the aquarium
is a great rainy day activity. Have fun
visiting animals like fish and otters,
and touching starfish and other
creatures in the educational tanks.
