Engineering of Nanomaterials: Case of
Nanophotocatalysts
Dr. Miguel Ángel Gracia Pinilla

In the recent years, nanoscience and nanotechnology have become
major scientific fields. The synthesis of nanomaterials is a significant step
in the development of novel nanotechnology applications. Today, the
efficiency of the applications are depending on the following parameters:
i) high size control, ii) compositional control, iii) geometry control, and iv)
the grade of the dispersion. Therefore, it is conceivable to design
nanomaterials with high performance through the optimal control of these
parameters, which would enable the design of interesting new devices.
This recent development has been called “Engineering of Nanomaterials.”
In this seminar we will review of the recent works done in my research
group; ours results indicate the possibility to design nanophotocatalysts
for specific reactions like photo-degradation of pesticides.
