Golf Tournament
The Annual Gateway Insurance Golf Tournament to benefit the
Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Foundation will be the first
event of the 89th TLPA Annual Convention & Trade Show in
Denver, Colorado.
Times
The tournament will be held Monday, Oct. 8, with departure from
the Hyatt Regency Denver at 10:45 a.m. and a shotgun tee-off
at noon. An awards ceremony sponsored by the John Burnham
Insurance Company of San Diego, California, with dinner, drinks,
and drawings for door prizes will conclude the event.
Sponsor
As it has since 2001, Gateway Insurance Company, St. Louis,
Missouri, is the tournament sponsor. Rich ­Kleinschmidt at Gateway is
the honorary chairman of the tournament.
Course
Riverdale Dunes, designed by Pete and Perry Dye, is a Scottishstyle links course meandering along the South Platte River. Riverdale Dunes has received local and national acclaim. The course
has hosted the Nike Tour Colorado Classic, the USGA Public
Links Championship, and numerous Colorado State Championships. Riverdale Dunes has been consistently rated as the number one public course in Colorado, and has been
ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top 75 public
courses in the United States. One of our Denver
members wrote, “This is the most challenging,
most scenic, and pound for pound, one of the best golf
courses in the country. It has been voted the best public
golf course in the state for the last 10 years.”
Dress Code
Riverdale Dunes requires all players to wear proper
golf attire. Proper attire for gentlemen shall include
shirts with collars and sleeves, slacks, or golf
shorts up to four inches above the knee. Proper attire for ladies shall include dresses, skirts, slacks, golf shorts, and
blouses. Halter tops, tank tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cut-offs,
bathing suits, sweat pants, jeans, tennis dresses, tennis shorts
or other athletic shorts are not permitted. Riverdale Dunes is a
soft-spike-only facility.

Prizes
The tournament will be played in a scramble format with twosomes playing the most advantageous ball after each has taken a
shot. There will be $1,500 in cash and golf-product prizes awarded. The winning twosome will divide $300. There will be $50
prizes for the “Closest to the Pin” on all four Par 3 holes. There
also will be a $50 prize for the “Longest Drive” on the par five 3rd
hole. If you have a partner you wish to play with please list him or
her below. Otherwise, we will pair you with a playing partner.

Club Rentals
Players may rent clubs from Riverdale Dunes for $30. Lefthanded clubs are available. If you plan to rent clubs please check
the box below indicating whether you play right-handed or
left-handed.

Fee
The registration fee is $125, which includes greens fees, golf cart,
practice balls, two drink tickets at the awards ceremony, roundtrip transportation from the Hyatt Regency Denver and dinner.
Fifty dollars of the registration fee is deductible as a charitable
contribution to the TLPF. The entire fee is non-refundable.

The Annual Golf Tournament sponsored by Gateway Insurance Company will benefit
the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Foundation. Please take advantage of one of

Awards Dinner Sponsorship: After the day’s playing has concluded, an awards ceremony
with dinner, drinks, presentation of prizes and drawings for door prizes is held. Sponsorship
of this event is $2,000.

Hole Sponsorships: For the past two years, companies have supported this event by
purchasing Hole Sponsorships. Each sponsorship is $150. There will be two sponsorships
for each Tee Box. Signs bearing the name of the two companies sponsoring each hole will be
placed in the Tee Box.

Promotional Items for Golfers: Many companies have promotional items with a golf theme
(golf balls, tees, towels, etc.) featuring their company’s logo. Any company wishing to
donate items to be placed in a “ditty bag” for each golfer should contact Hal Morgan to
make arrangements.
