Integration
Microsoft Dynamics GP integrates
and uses many other Microsoft
applications such as Word, Excel,
Lync, MapPoint, SQL Server and
Dynamics CRM to help your business
improve productivity.
Integration occurs between modules
to reduce repetitive transaction
entry, and reduce data entry errors.
This helps increase your productivity.

Security Basics
Basics
• System and Company Security: A system password can be used to lock key system
windows; users can be granted access on a per company basis.
• User Security: Individual security is role-based in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Users must
be assigned to a security role before they can access any forms, reports, or other data
in Microsoft Dynamics GP. To assign user security, identify the daily tasks that the user
will complete in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Then, select from the default security roles or
create new security roles that only grant access to the tasks that the user must have.
• Security Tasks: Security tasks are assigned to roles. The security tasks grant access to
windows, reports, files, and other resources in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Users must
have access to the security tasks so that they can complete a specific task.
• Security Roles: Security roles include the security tasks that users must have access to
so that they can do their jobs. Roles are then assigned to individual users of Microsoft
Dynamics GP.
