SLING TACKLES & DANGEROUS TACKLE To promote a safe environment in SANFL Juniors ALL sling type and dangerous tackles are to be penalised. If you see any of the following:  A player lifted off the ground in the tackle  Two distinct actions in the tackle  Or Intent to hurt by force in the tackle You must be vigilant in this area. IF IN DOUBT – err on the side of paying a free kick ! MATCH CONDITIONS As the appointed umpire it is your responsibility to be fully conversant with the match conditions that apply to the grade you are umpiring. It is not a good look for an umpire to be asking competing teams what the rules are but this is happening at some matches on a weekly basis. Match conditions (rules) for all competitions within SANFL Juniors are on the SANFL website http://sanfl.com.au/juniors‐umpiring‐resources/ NB: Matches played at Hectorville (Daly Oval) and Gaza (Klemzig) in Under 8 – Under 11 follow SANFL Juniors match conditions NOT North East U6 – U11 match conditions SANFL JUNIORS RULES & REGULATIONS Clubs have been advised that umpires are NOT a walking encyclopedia of the competition’s Rules and Regulations. Many questions are being directed to umpires that clearly are the responsibility of the Competition Management team. If you are asked any questions that do not relate to match conditions there is no expectation on you to answer them. Clubs are to be directed to call Competition Management on 84406931 for clarification. UMPIRE ARRIVAL AT MATCHES (reminder) Please arrive at your match no later than 20 minutes prior to start time. Clubs have been instructed to action the Non‐Arrival of Umpire process and organise their own umpire if the appointed umpire doesn’t show 10 minutes prior to match time. If you are late and club has arranged their own umpire they may decide not to use you. Upon arrival make it known to club officials you are there and introduce yourself to each coach prior to the match. This is a compulsory requirement in all matches. Some umpires are still simply not turning for matches despite confirming appointments. SCHEDULA As work on umpire appointments commences over the weekend for the next weekend’s matches please update your availability by 6pm Friday for the following weekend. o i.e Friday June 16th for matches on June 23rd and 25th RED/YELLOW/BLUE CARDS If you have not collected cards at training please email [email protected] advising your name and full address and we will post out to you. UMPIRE MATCH PAYMENTS ENQUIRIES
Please wait until the weekly pay run is completed before you make any umpire payment enquiries. This is occurs overnight on Wednesday for crediting to bank accounts no later than Thursday. Prior to making contact regarding your umpire payment as silly as this sounds check your bank account first. Enquiry must be detailed including matches umpired and payment amount expected and include a copy of your remittance advice and emailed to [email protected] UMPIRE UNIFORMS SANFL Juniors “National Pharmacies Optical” umpire uniforms are still available. Cost $60 for shirt/shorts/sox. Collection and payment in cash is now only available from Adelaide Oval via pre‐
