FUβBALL
Fuβall, or soccer as we know it, is definitely the most popular sport in Germany.
German people consider association soccer to be their national sport!
They have one the World Cup and the European Championship several times.
Some well known players on the Germany Soccer Team you may know:

Gerd Müller

Karl-Heinz Rum
There are more than 15 widely known “professional” soccer Teams in

FUβBALL
This is played between 2 teams, each consisting of 11 players. At each end of the
field there are goal-posts that are guarded from the opposing team by keepers
who may use both hands and arms during game-play. The other positions are not
allowed to use hands or arms but are allowed to use all other body parts.
Traditionally the ball is kicked, but it can also be passed using your head!

TENNIS
Although Fuβall is the favorite among many Germans, many other sports are popular
in Germany.
TENNIS: Germany has been home to many famous tennis players such as: Borris
Becker, Steffi Graf and Marin Cilic. They participate in major tennis tournaments
like Wimbledon and the Davis Cup.

BASKETBALL, HANDBALL, VOLLEYBALL
Among other sports, basketball has emerged in recent years as a more popular sport
in Germany. They play club games much like soccer leagues.
Handball is also very popular among the Germans. Handball is a lot like soccer. You
play with your hands and the ball must be passed, not travelled with. You can also
use other body parts, but the goal is much like the soccer goal and the positions
are very similar.
Volleyball has emerged recently for both men and women. It is very similar to
American Volleyball.
