The information detailed below should give you and your team the knowledge needed to ensure your
dealership is able to take part in this programme.
The Devices we use:
We use standard Apple iPod Touch devices, 4th and 5th generation. If further technical information is
needed on the device please visit www.apple.com/uk
Connectivity:
We need the devices to be connected permanently to your chosen dealership Wi-Fi network with any of
the following restrictions lifted:
The iPod will communicate with our servers through ports:

CitNOW uses an Apple service called Mobile Device Management (MDM) to monitor and update the
software on the iPods. The iPod will communicate with Apple servers through ports:

All of these ports need to be opened both ways between the iPod, via Wi-Fi, and the Internet.

To ensure that all of your PCs and Laptops can see our back office and stream video to the media players
please also unblock the following port:


IP Addresses are available on request, but are subject to change.
Bandwidth Information:
CitNOW (recorded video) – for transfer through your own Wi-Fi and ADSL: h.264 video at 1280x720, 30fps,
variable bitrate averaging 1.2Mbps. 1 Minute of video is around 10MB.
As the recorded videos are stored on our server, to review recorded videos without excessive buffering the
dealership will need to have a download speed of at least 2Mbps. This would need to be increased with
more users accessing CitNOW videos within your network.
The minimum upstream bandwidth we recommend to upload videos to the server is 800Kbps. This would
equate to a 2-minute video taking around 3 minutes to upload.
General Wi-Fi Information:
Wi-Fi needs to be available in any location where the dealer may wish to upload a video.
The Car Sales/Aftersales Team requires Wi-Fi access from their desks and work areas (i.e. the workshop) to
fully benefit from the CitNOW iPod kit.

In addition, Flash Player also needs to be installed. Video playback will work with a minimum version of
10.1, but for security we would recommend the latest version is maintained at all times.
The Technology:
We supply the centrally controlled devices through our own MDM Platform, each device is capable of
storing and uploading video files for Sales, Aftersales, and Web Videos.
Alternative Devices:
The 7-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 device (GT-P3110ZWABTU) is supported but the 10 inch
version is not. If further technical information is needed on the device please visit

Back Office Technical Information:
To assist us in providing the very best service to your IT Department we will provide you with technical
information on the various videos uploaded to our servers, this information would help any potential ADSL
issues and connectivity issues with WAP’s etc. You will be given IT User Access at www.citnow.com shortly
after your service commences.
